BELLEVUE, WA – With this morning’s ruling on the case of District of Columbia v. Heller, America has begun “its long march back toward liberty under a Second Amendment that means what it says,” the Second Amendment Foundation said.

“Today’s ruling by the Supreme Court should forever put to rest any contention that the right to keep and bear arms is not a fundamental, individual civil right,” said SAF founder Alan M. Gottlieb. “For six decades, anti-gun rights extremists have engaged in a monumental fraud that has been unfortunately perpetuated by activist judges who erroneously insisted that the right to keep and bear arms applies only to service in a militia.

“Wisdom and truth have triumphed over hysteria and falsehood,” he continued. “This decision makes it clear that a right ‘of the people’ is a right enjoyed by, and affirmed for, all citizens. It destroys a cornerstone of anti-gun rights elitism, which has fostered – through years of deceit and political demagoguery – the erosion of this important civil right.

“This ruling also makes it abundantly clear that laws which ban the possession of firearms, or make it simply impossible through regulation for citizens to exercise their right to keep and bear arms, are unconstitutional and cannot stand,” Gottlieb stated. “Today, America has taken a small but significant step toward restoring the Second Amendment to its proper place in our Bill of Rights.

“For too many years,” he observed, “Americans have seen this fundamental civil right under constant and unrelenting attack. We are hopeful that today’s decision will halt an insidious campaign for citizen disarmament through legislation and regulations that have made our neighborhoods less safe, our cities less secure and our people less self-reliant, which is the trait that has made America unique among nations.

“But this fight is hardly over,” Gottlieb concluded. “Today’s ruling is a stepping stone, the foundation upon which we can rebuild this important individual right. Our work has only just begun.”

Additionally, I was told Mr. Paul was going to eliminate the Federal Reserve ‘if’ elected. That single action would benefit us all by light years and is a great and noble idea. What concerns me is President Kennedy was going to do the same thing. For that very reason (just research it) he was ‘murdered’ in Dallas. Since lots of us are aware there is a 15,000 kiloton H-Bomb “missing” it looks like the trigger to the coming horror will be the destruction of an American city. History would not dispute the controls put on us and the world would rally support. We would be controlled for “our own protection”. That’s easy to see, but I still think, what are the 800 Concentration Camps for? With a lock-down on information getting out to the world, anything could go on here unbridled. Most reading this are keenly aware of the dictatorial hoops we’re all going to have to jump through and doing what we can to address it in our own way. Most American’s however, will be caught completely ‘off guard’ as they seem like walking dead to me. I was in a store yesterday and attempted to reason with several people and was looked at as a lunatic. The consensus was, “What you’re saying can never happen in America”. I felt hopeless as I was screaming out alarms but my voice was ridiculed. Images of the piles of bodies I’ve seen in other places at other times haunted me all night.
In my article is mentioned a variety of foods and the most important are proteins (powers, hemp seeds, canned meats, beans and other), oils, oats, honey, vitamins, SPROUTS, at the proper weight per person. I mentioned baby wipes as a means of hygiene but neglected to mention what we got in our combat field manual which is a washcloth and soap. You can ‘bathe’ in about a cup of water. Just soap up the cloth and clean from the head down. Rinse twice and you’ll get by fine. It is important to maintain cleanliness. If water isn’t an issue, continue as always but large segments of people will be rationing water. You might want to put some deodorant on your list.

Have you bought what you’ve decided you will need? Remember, when the “event” happens everyone will be in a massive panic and the store shelves will positively be stripped of any food in 2 hours or less. I’ve watched it and it’s a desperate move at staying alive. Food and water equals life. Without it you simply die. It isn’t complicated but do your list with much thought and get to the store NOW. Even if we wait a couple more months (which I seriously doubt) we’ll have it safely gathered in so when the desperate rush happens, you can watch it on TV.

This is Jonathan from We Are Change Colorado and I have launched a massive campaign to get back on youtube with full force. I have setup multiple accounts to which I will have mirrors of the We Are Change videos. (Mysteriously our previous youtube account was shut down without any reason given or notice. Conspiracy? I have found in the We Are Change Colorado Archives a video of a street action when Sander Hicks was with us where the police were called on us and a cop showed up, all of this I have caught on video tape, and the police officer told us that handing out DVD’s for free was considered literature and was protected by the 1st amendment. THIS WAS ON THE 16th street mall!!!
Rob just got arrested for doing this and I have video that will show that the cops were breaking the laws they knew were in place 3 months prior.

New evidence has now emerged that the violent attack on the anti-Bush
demonstration by the police last Sunday, 15th June, was not only
premeditated but was also orchestrated by the police themselves.
Yasmin Whittaker-Khan writing in yesterday's Mail on Sunday identified
one 'protester' as a police 'agent provocateur'

The background is this:

On Sunday 15th June the Stop the War Coalition together with the
Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament and the British Muslim Initiative
organized a peaceful protest against the visit of US President George
Bush to London.

Over the last seven years Stop the War has organized numerous
demonstrations all of which have all passed off peacefully. All these
events have been arranged with the co-operation of the Metropolitan
police with whom the Coalition has had a good working relationship.

This time the police were clearly operating with a different agenda:

1] Whitehall was sealed off for unspecified reasons. The police had
taken the 'political' decision not to allow a march to proceed along
Whitehall.

2] More than 1200 police, many of whom were riot police, were deployed
to control a peace demonstration of no more than 2500 people.

3] Without provocation the police drew their batons en masse and
proceeded to attack the demonstrators. There are many independent
witnesses to this and the photographic evidence is strong. Several
people were hospitalized and others arrested indiscriminately.

4] There is evidence that the police used 'agent provocateurs' to try
[without success] and stir up the crowd. See the article by Yasmin
Whittaker-Khan in the Mail on Sunday 22nd June 2008.

A number of questions now need urgent attention:

a] Who took the decision to ban the march? Which government ministers
were involved? What role did the United States security services play in
this decision?

b] Why were so many police deployed?

c] Who gave the order for batons to be drawn and used?

d] Why did the police use 'agent provocateurs' to try and create disorder?
Were the security services involved in this sinister development?

Andrew Murray, Chair of the Stop the War Coalition, said today, 'The
premeditated attack on a peace demonstration by the police marks a
further deterioration in the civil liberties of all people in Britain.
We demand a full public investigation into the events of June 15th.'

Police wielding batons clashed with protesters last night when a demonstration against George Bush’s farewell visit to Britain turned violent a few hundred meters from where the US President [sic] was dining with Gordon Brown. Within the shadow of the Houses of Parliament, officers dressed in riot gear skirmished with several hundred demonstrators who had been attending a rally organized by the Stop the War Coalition… Police drew batons and truncheons in an attempt to push back a crowd which at 6.20pm moved from the rally on Parliament Square to try to gain entry to Whitehall. A squad of riot officers and horses were later sent to reinforce the barricade as protesters chanting “George Bush, terrorist” and “Bush go home” repeatedly tried to break through the reinforced crowd barriers and concrete blocks.

Larry Matlack, President of the American Agriculture Movement (AAM), has raised concerns over the issue of U.S. grain reserves after it was announced that the sale of 18.37 million bushels of wheat from USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) Bill Emerson Humanitarian Trust. 06 Jun 2008 “According to the May 1, 2008 CCC inventory report there are only 24.1 million bushels of wheat in inventory, so after this sale there will be only 2.7 million bushels of wheat left the entire CCC inventory,” warned Matlack. “…[T]he U.S. has nothing else in our emergency food pantry. There is no cheese, no butter, no dry milk powder, no grains or anything else left in reserve. The only thing left in the entire CCC inventory will be 2.7 million bushels of wheat which is about enough wheat to make ½ of a loaf of bread for each of the 300 million people in America.” The CCC is a federal government-owned and operated entity that was created to stabilize, support, and protect farm income and prices. CCC is also supposed to maintain balanced and adequate supplies of agricultural commodities and aids in their orderly distribution.

Police in Washington DC have set up vehicle checkpoints in the American capital in a controversial measure 09 Jun 2008 In a move that critics have compared to the security clampdown in Baghdad, police are stopping motorists travelling through the main thoroughfare of Trinidad, a neighbourhood near the National Arboretum in the city’s northeast section. Drivers’ identification are checked and those who didn’t have a “legitimate purpose” in the area are turned away.

Microsoft may have inadvertently disclosed a potential Microsoft backdoor for law enforcement earlier this week. To explain this all, here is the layman term of a backdoor from Wikipedia:

A backdoor in a computer system (or cryptosystem or algorithm) is a method of bypassing normal authentication, securing remote access to a computer, obtaining access to plaintext, and so on, while attempting to remain undetected. It is D-Day +2. Operation Overlord is advancing with all five beachheads at Normandy firmly in Allied hands. 150,000 American, British and Canadian soldiers are ashore with over 6,000 ships offshore and 13,000 aircraft are overhead in support. Allied units are in assembly areas preparing for the assault onto the European mainland. Meanwhile, in England , General George Patton is readying the US Third Army to be the spearhead. In Southern Europe, American forces are entering Rome and in the South Pacific, MacArthur and Nimitz are on the prowl for Japanese forces. The invasion of Saipan is days away and the Marianas Turkey Shoot is occurring in the Philippine Sea with hundreds of Japanese planes shot down and two carriers sunk. We have sustained approximately 30,000 American casualties worldwide so far during that 48 hours.

And 64 years to the day later I am watching an abuse of power by US Homeland Security and the Columbia , SC Police Department. We are outside the Sterling Garden Center in Columbia protesting Senator Lindsey Graham and his liberal policies even though he claims to be a conservative Republican. I watch a man and his wife pull into the parking lot where we are protesting, which is guaranteed under the US Constitution. She sideswipes two American citizens. She gets out of her car along with her husband and she screams out F#%k You! and slams the door of her car right in front of two police officers. She and her husband go inside to support Lindsey Graham. Jim Stachs of Freedom Fighter Radio and Virginia are almost flattened onto the pavement because of this woman’s actions. When they try to press charges against her, an officer from our celebrated Department of Homeland Security refuses to allow the police officers to file a complaint.

The woman is the wife of one of Columbia ’s elite. Her husband is a commissioner at our airport and the license plate reads Airport Commissioner car #3. These police officers, two of Columbia ’s finest, refuse to write up a ticket or take this woman to jail. They threaten us, tell us to back up. They listen to a Homeland Security officer, his last name is Frederick , issue them an unlawful order to not file charges. And they obey him. They do not listen to the two people that were physically hit and verbally assaulted, no, they listen to someone who has no authority. I just wonder what they would have done if I had uttered the words “you cheap bastard”? This is the state of affairs, currently in the USA , 64 years after ten of thousands of Americans have given their lives for this country. A Homeland Security officer has given an illegal order (shades of Nazi Germany) and our law enforcement officials obey without question. To hell with what the citizens want, and demand, and what our laws say, the elites must be obeyed without question, even if it circumvents the US Constitution.

And you wonder why the American people are angry? Our newspapers exist because of the protections under free speech. Yet they condemn us because we protest under that same Constitution. We are guaranteed life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, yet a Homeland Security official has the power to order our police officials to not enforce the law. A woman, who does not like that we are protesting her Senator, screams curse words at us, hits us with her car, and she is not taken to jail. That is simply an abuse of power, and I invite everyone that reads this letter to call our new Police Chief, our Mayor and our airport and demand that this man be fired because of the actions of his wife. He was beside her, in the car with her and was complicit in her actions. It is called aiding and abetting a crime.

This is the state of affairs in Columbia , SC. If you are part of the elite here, you get a free pass from breaking our laws. If you advocate for illegal aliens and their criminal employers, you get a free pass. On the other hand, if you are like me, Jim Stachs or Virginia, complaints are ignored because you are not one of the elite. They will put me in jail for uttering a curse word but they will ignore the curse words of a woman because she and her husband are supporting Lindsey Graham. We do not matter because our voices are not loud enough. Because of this man’s job and his position in our community, law enforcement will not take his wife to jail. Because of his position he gets a free pass. His wife gets a free pass. Is this America ? The home of the brave and land of the free? Or is this a police state, where ours laws are enforced when our elites are inconvenienced?

Is it okay for our elites to curse and commit crimes but not the rest of us? Is it okay for Senator Lindsey Graham to advocate for anarchy and amnesty? Is it okay for one of our elites to scream curse words at us, hit US citizens with her car, with her husbands complicity and not be taken to jail? Is it okay for a Homeland Security officer to order our police to not enforce our laws? Is it okay for those police officer’s superiors to agree with that officers order?

I do not think so. Than man should be fired from his job at our airport. His wife needs to be in jail along with her husband and the two officers that listened to that ignorant Homeland Security officer Frederick. I demand that Mayor Bob Coble and our new police chief fire those people. And Officer Frederick of Homeland Security should be fired also because they are not upholding our laws under the US Constitution. When they support the elites and forget We The People, then this isn’t America anymore. This is a dictatorship, plain and simple. This is a country that is governed by a few jerks, that have forfeited the right of Constitutional law, because they are the ones in power. I do not care that Mayor Bob Coble has been Mayor of Columbia for years or that our new Police Chief has only been in office for a few weeks, I demand that both of you resign because because you are lackeys. You simply enforce laws that you feel comfortable with and not the laws under the US Constitution. You both feel free to select what laws which you will enforce and leave it up to South Carolinians to defend themselves.

You both feel free to enforce the laws against Americans but you feel free to not enforce the laws as enacted under our Constitution! You feel free to not arrest the wife of a Columbia Airport official, who aids and abets her crime, yet you will arrest me who called one of your supporters a cheap bastard! You both advocate for anarchy, yet you have forfeited your rights to hold office. You will enforce some laws but you forfeit your obligation to uphold all laws. Under our Constitution and our state laws.

It is okay for your supporters to break our laws but not your opponents. It is okay for you to advocate for illegal aliens and their employers but not for your opponents to demand that our laws be upheld. It is okay for your supporters to treat the citizens like dirt, but it is not okay for us to protest your insane policies. It is okay for your supporters to curse us and intentionally hit us with their cars because you will give them a free pass.

But I say to you, to hell with your selective enforcement of our laws, to hell with your advocating for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, to hell with your advocating with their employers. You are breaking our laws, and you are the Mayor and Police Chief of Columbia , SC ! You are two dirt bags and criminals, pure and simple and you both deserve to be in jail and not representing the citizens of the great state of South Carolina .

And Senator Lindsey Graham, you are a piece of crap. You hide inside that building, see what happens outside and you keep your mouth shut. You are a piece of crap from the word go. You are so worried about keeping your office that you close your eyes to what is happening outside. It is very important for you to stay in office because that is your overriding concern. Nothing matters more to you than holding onto your office and betraying the citizens of South Carolina. It does not matter to you that two of your citizens was hit by one of your supporters, what matters to you is to remain in office and kiss John McCain’s backside. What matters to you is to stay in office and to continue to call us bigots and to tell us to shut up! You are the epitome of Benedict Arnold, in every form.

Agencies are required by the directive to make available for sharing with other agencies… all biometric and associated biographical information for individuals about whom authorities have an “articulable and reasonable suspicion that they pose a threat to national security.” 06 Jun 2008 The Bush administration has required agencies to increase their capability to share among themselves biometric information on people believed to pose a threat to national security.

A presidential directive issued June 5, 2008 requires the increased compatibility of methods agencies use to collect, store and share fingerprints, face and iris recognition data and behavioral characteristics to identify and screen “known and suspected terrorists.” The directive also applies to other categories of individuals the directive said would be identified soon who may also pose a threat to national security.

New agreement lets US strike any country from inside Iraq

–Sources: US army is completing the building of military facilities and runways for permanent bases. A proposed Iraqi-American security agreement will include permanent American bases in the country, and the right for the United States to strike, from within Iraqi territory, any country it considers a threat to its national security, Gulf News has learned. Senior Iraqi military sources have told Gulf News that the long-term controversial agreement is likely to include three major items:

• Iraqi security institutions such as Defence, Interior and National Security ministries, as well as armament contracts, will be under US supervision for ten years
• Agreement is also likely to give US forces permanent military bases in Iraq
• US is granted the right to move against any country considered to be a threat against world stability or acting against Iraqi or American interests

First, I will give you the simple solution to our battle for our sovereignty: Put OUR military on OUR borders!

The SAVE Act will definitely NOT stop the flood of illegal aliens to our country. It is ‘feel good’ legislation that some anti-illegal immigration groups have jumped on board with for reasons only they can tell you. The bill is called “enforcement only” legislation. How can you enforce border security without adequate armed people patrolling the borders? Budget after budget in D.C. has underfunded ALL agencies that enforce our immigration policies.

The bill includes language to increase the number of border patrol agents but it states over and over and over right in the bill: subject to the availability of appropriations Do you still TRUST your government to suddenly get a conscience and FUND all agencies involved in Immigration law enforcement? I do not.

We already pay for troops stationed in S. Korea, Germany and other countries. Why not bring those troops home to guard our borders? Instead, our Administration has actually removed some of our Border Patrol Agents from our border and placed them in Iraq to train Iraqis. India has 160,000 troops patrolling their borders. A fence will not stop invaders. The so-called ‘virtual’ fence is a sick joke! You need troops on the border to apprehend anyone entering illegally - use of deadly force may be necessary - it is OUR border!
India has even launched a program to illuminate their border! Which country is a third world country?
The bill mentions better and more equipment but there is no funding! When you contact your members of Congress, they will probably dismiss this and state: “Funding is done in budgets.” YUP! Just like they only funded training of 252 officers under 287 (g) this year. Again, I do NOT trust my government. Remember the fence funding fiasco?

The bill mentions improvements in roads and barriers along the border, again with NO factual funding.

The bill mentions yet another PILOT program: the use of a ‘drone’ for border surveillance. Yup! We just saw how successful the PILOT virtual fence program was! Again, the bill mentions this item but there is no funding.

The bill requires MANDATORY use of E-Verify. (By the way, some of the same brain-trust that came up with the SAVE Act has already launched a bill to replace E-Verify!!) Here is what I wrote as a comment to this component of the bill:

Never since the dawn of civilization has any government been successful at centralized control of jobs. Mandatory use of e-verify places the federal government between every employee and a possible employer. We have in place laws which make it illegal to hire illegal aliens. Enforce those laws.

We have an overage of attorneys and a shortage of ICE Inspectors and a shortage of Border Patrol agents.

Nothing wrong with making e-verify permanent but it must be left voluntary. With this in effect, if I start a business and I want my son working for me, I will need government permission. This, dear reader is extreme socialism / communism.

The SAVE Act contains language about mandatory notification of social security number mismatches. OK! Now we have fixed the problem!! Just like Congress passed a law PROHIBITING the travel of trucks from Mexico within the interior of the United States - the Administration basically told Congress: “screw you!” we are ignoring your laws! The Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security has no-match letters ready to send out now!! THE COURTS STOPPED IT!!

There is one component in this bill which would coordinate births and deaths in our country. A good idea, but it is an electronic system which as we all know can be corrupted through hacking. In case anyone believes there is such a thing as a totally secure data base - there is no such thing.

The SAVE Act contains H.R. 2399 which would actually permit religious institutions to become legal sanctuaries for illegal aliens. It could even be extended (by a judge) to exempts organizations like MEChA from prosecution for aiding and abetting illegal aliens. H.R. 2399 violates our constitution equal protection under law provision. In other words, if you exempt one category of people from a law, you must exempt everyone. H.R. 2399 is a very bad piece of legislation.

SAVE ACT H.R. 4088 -THE SECURITY THROUGH VERIFICATION AND ENFORCEMENT ACT OF 2007

Wrong Information May Lead to Passage of Very Bad Immigration Bill

The Save America through Verification and Enforcement (SAVE) Act (H.R.4088) compounds the dysfunction in our current system, undermines our national security, and erodes values upon which America was built.

Urge your Representative not to sign the discharge position or to support the SAVE Act H.R.4088, because the bill does nothing to advance our nation’s best interest, and undermines our national security.

Some groups who claim to be our allies in the fight to stop illegal immigration are circulating alerts asking you to support the SAVE ACT (H.R. 4088). This bill, otherwise known as the “Secure America Through Verification and Enforcement Act of 2007” is said to have strong bi-partisan support and is on a fast track for passage.

The American Policy Center has read this legislation and is issuing this Alert AGAINST the Save Act Here’s Why:

· The SAVE Act does not fund the existing fencing requirement authorized, but not funded, last year by Congress.

· The SAVE Act only authorizes “additional fencing (aesthetic fencing in business districts) in urban areas of the border.”

· The SAVE Act, instead of fencing, proposes to strengthen the rest of the border with “vehicle barriers.”

· The Save Act specifies the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) will “(contract) with Foreign Companies “for the Secure Border Initiative, and proposes purchasing of a contract to manage the operations of a United States port by a foreign entity”(emphasis mine).

· The SAVE Act will specifically defend a religious denomination for breaking the law by smuggling or harboring illegals and it says “…to encourage, invite, call, allow, or enable an alien who is present in the United States to perform the vocation of a minister or missionary…as a volunteer who is not compensated…notwithstanding the provision of room, board, travel, medical assistance, and other basic living expenses (if that person) has been a member… at least one year.”

· The SAVE Act states clearly that the “border protection strategy” of the Secretaries of Interior and Agriculture “(will support) the border security needs of the United States in the manner that best protects (Wait for it) ‘the land’ that DOI and USDA manages. In other words, protecting the environment is to be considered more important than protecting the borders.

· The SAVE Act establishes mandatory federal employment authorization verification for ALL workers, including American citizens.

· The SAVE Act does not establish penalties in the form of fines and/or imprisonment for illegal invaders, only for those who interact with them, except a church.

· If you remember, recently DHS Secretary Chertoff said that he would not “tolerate interference” with his agency’s programs and actions. True to his word, in total disregard for the U.S. Constitution and States’ rights, the SAVE Act includes a provision stating, “No state may prohibit a person or other entity from using the E-verify program to verify the employment authorization of new hires or current employees.” In short the bill dictates hiring rules to the states

We realize it’s unlikely many of you actually read through legislation we ask you to take positions on. APC has read H.R. 4088 and it’s clear that passage of the Save Act will not secure our nation’s borders, will not safeguard her citizens, will not preserve what’s left of our Rule of Law, and will further decimate our economy. It is imperative you immediately call your member of Congress, and tell them to oppose H.R. 4088, also known as the SAVE Act.

Also immediately call Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi; House Majority Whip, Steny Hoyer: House Minority Leader, John Boehner; and House Minority Whip, Roy Blunt. Tell them all to oppose the SAVE Act. This bill may come up for a vote at any time. Call the Congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121. The SAVE Act is on fast track for passage. Many of us who oppose illegal aliens have been encouraged to support it. So many elected officials are getting the false message that this is a good bill. IT IS NOT! It is urgent that you call now to oppose H.R. 4088.

Bush also is seeking $500 million in emergency assistance for Mexico this year as part of the supplemental war spending measure.

The Pentagon claims that the low levels of radiation emitted from DU weaponry pose no health risks. Many scientists disagree with the way this conclusion is drawn. The military looks only at how the trillions of healthy cells that comprise the human body are affected by exposure to low dosages when handling the munitions. They ignore the fact that as DU munitions are exploded, they burst into flames and vaporize.

According to Helen Caldicott, up to 70% of the uranium released when DU munitions are exploded is converted into microscopic particles that can be inhaled or ingested immediately or when air, soil and water get contaminated. Once inside the human body, these particles kill or mutate the cells they come in contact with. Photographs of DU particles in living lung tissues show them as tiny sun-like, radiating objects. The half-life of this radioactive substance is 4.5 billion years.

Depleted Uranium is anything but Depleted. The name is a misnomer. It has a Half Life of 4.5 Billion years, this is the time that it will emit Radioactivity till half strength. It is primarily an Alpha Emitter producing a weak yet very dangerous radioactivity if consumed - inhaled, swallowed or embedded in the skin. It is the ‘gift’ that keeps giving. A new report from PubMed National Medical Libary abstracts on the undisputed toxicology of notso-Depleted Uranium, 28.5 BILLION YEARS To Clear from Earth.

When a DU kinetic energy penetrator impacts a target and because it is very Pyrophoric, meaning it burns,US Army research shows that between 10 and 70 percent of the round oxidizes. The bullets and large calibre shells are actually on fire when they come out of the gun barrel because they are ignited by the friction in the barrel and explode on contact. Most of the oxides created are respirable in size (less than 5 microns) and insoluble. The dust created by an impact (roughly 0.5 to 3 kg per 120mm tank round) is a vapourised, radioactive gas comprising of tiny nano-particles. The microscopic particles in this vapour are then littered, depending upon prevailing winds, up to 100 kms around (estimates on this vary — with some sources citing up to 1000 kms), where they fall on crops, water, or just on the ground to be picked up by the next gust of wind or by car tyres. Later, when this gas enters the atmosphere, it can spread worldwide. DU weaponry are nuclear weapons. No question.

The nanoparticles of DU enter the body, from the air, from landing on clothing or skin and from food or water. These nanoparticles penetrate all protective clothing and masks, and once it comes in contact with the body it immediately disperses and begins to alter DNA. As it is not soluble it cannot be excreted from the body. Uranium is a toxic chemical element, just like lead, mercury, cadmium and chromium. A single microscopic particle can cause a lethal disease. DU will continue to poison life from the dust and soils of the battlefields and testing grounds.

According to the declassified Groves memo from the Manhattan Project in 1943, the properties of DU in weapons has been known and strategised with for 60 years. It is clear that the US has known for 60 years about the effects of DU on the battlefield, also the danger to its own soldiers. Radioactive waste from nuclear weapons development, mixed with high-level waste front nuclear reactors, becomes a lethal cocktail in DU ammunition. In recent reports, the US Department of Energy has admitted that military reactor waste has been mixed with DU. The waste contains plutonium, uranium-236, neptunium and other isotopes thousands of times more radioactive than DU. Disposing of dangerous waste at a profit benefits US government agencies and the military industrial complex, while passing the liability for disposal and the biological and environmental damage to citizens around the world.

Which is worse, flash annihilation by nuclear explosions, or slow mutilation from low-level radiation, the result of radioactive contamination of the air, water and earth essential to life? Globally, we have been deceived about the health effects of radiation by bureaucratized governments informed by the military industrial complex and scientific power. In the past half-century, 1.3 billion people have been killed, maimed, and diseased by nuclear weapons and nuclear power. Millions more will be killed, maimed and diseased unless the citizens of the world demand an end to the proliferation of nuclear weapons, nuclear power, nuclear waste, and the new radiological weapons. Additionally, the military use of DU violates current international law including the principle that there is no unlimited right to choose the means and methods of warfare.

When speaking of the quantities of DU used in various wars it is worth understanding that the amount of uranium used in the bomb that destroyed Hiroshima was approximately 13kg, about the size of a two-litre milk container. A Japanese professor, Dr. K. Yagasaki, has calculated that in terms of the atomicity, (the amount of radiation produced), a ton of DU used on the battlefield releases the equivalent of 100 Hiroshima bombs worth of radiation released into the atmosphere. Thus when experts refer to the 2000 tons of DU dropped on Iraq in the past three years, what is being released in the Iraqi atmosphere, and then spreading worldwide, is the equivalent of 200,000 Hiroshima bombs. The total amount of DU the US has used since 1991 is approximately 4600 tons (1000 in the first Gulf War, 800 in Kosovo, 800 in Afghanistan and a further 2000 tons in the current Iraq war.) This amounts to approximately 460,000 Hiroshima bombs, ten times the amount of radiation released into the atmosphere from all previous nuclear testing worldwide.

Out of the 580,400 soldiers who served in GW1 (the first Gulf War), of them, 11,000 are now dead! Of the 580,000 US soldiers that served in Iraq in 1991, by mid 2004 518,739 were on medical disability pensions. This figure is 150,000 higher than just one year earlier. There are no more recent statistics, but it would appear that by now the percentages of soldiers affected would be reaching 100%. This is an astounding number of ‘Disabled Vets’ The disability rate for the wars of the last century was 5 percent; it was higher, 10 percent, in Viet Nam.

Terry Jamison, Public Affairs Specialist, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, Department of Veterans Affairs, at the VA Central Office, recently reported that ‘Gulf Era Veterans’ now on medical disability, since 1991, number 518,739 Veterans. The long-term effects have revealed that DU (uranium oxide) is a virtual death sentence.
