Rep. Rahm Emanuel of Illinois, the fourth-ranking House Democrat, and Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana also did not report they serve as family foundation directors, according to financial disclosure reports examined by USA TODAY.
All three foundations are funded and controlled by the lawmakers and their spouses, and do not solicit donations from outside sources.

Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said Friday the speaker will amend her reports. He said it “was an oversight” that she had not listed her position dating back to 1992.
Members of Congress and top executive branch officials are required to file yearly reports on their personal finances, including any positions they hold with businesses or non-profits. At least 16 other lawmakers from both parties have reported holding similar positions, records show.
Bayh spokeswoman Meghan Keck said it was “simply an oversight” that he did not disclose his charity role. Bayh has since amended his reports, Keck said.
Emanuel, chairman of the House Democratic Conference, does not believe the law requires him to disclose his foundation post, spokeswoman Kathleen Connery said. “We believe we’re following the instructions of the (ethics) committee exactly right, but if we’re not, we’ll amend our report,” she said.
Stanley Brand, a former House general counsel, said the 1978 federal ethics law does not allow lawmakers to omit their positions with family non-profits.
Pelosi and other Democrats made ethics and greater transparency of how they do business a top priority in the 2006 elections. When the Democratic-controlled Congress convened Jan. 4, the House changed its ethics rules but did not specifically address financial disclosure forms.
The Senate passed an ethics bill earlier this month that would boost penalties for knowingly filing false financial disclosure statements.
“Despite all the ethics reforms, there’s still no enforcement,” said Melanie Sloan, a former federal prosecutor and head of the liberal-leaning Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington.
Filing a false report could be prosecuted as a felony, Sloan and Brand said, but prosecutions are rare. Last year, then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist failed to report his role in a family charity. He updated his disclosure form and wasn’t punished.

President-elect Barack Obama’s newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot “red flags,” according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com.
According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002.
Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint (click here to read) but the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) (click here to read) of having “failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.”

November 5, 2008 (Columbia County, GA) - Freedom Fighter Radio Host , Jim Stach, was stopped and arrested on the evening of November 4, 2008 as he was driving by a polling place in Columbia County, GA. Stach had gone to vote in his own precinct wearing a Fire Congress t-shirt, carrying an upside down flag and wearing an empty gun holster, in a silent form of protest. He was told he could not wear the shirt into the polling place, as it violated campaigning laws. Stach returned wearing a different shirt and was allowed to vote.
Stach, whose radio show deals with American freedoms and liberties and dispensing information that is not covered by the mainstream news networks, is very knowledgeable about the Constitution and carries an upside down flag because he feels our country is in distress. He sees this as peaceful and gives people the opportunity to approach him and ask questions without him disturbing them.
As the silent protest went well and he was allowed to vote at his precinct, Stach went driving around to other areas. A lady who was offended that he would be flying his flag Union down approached him, and he had the opportunity to engage in a peaceful conversation about his thoughts on the direction of the country. As Stach left the area, he was pulled over and was questioned about the incident. Up to approximately 6 police cars came to the scene and 12 officers, after Stach was stopped. Stach was cooperative as they questioned him and they took the opportunity to search his car. Upon speaking with the accusing lady, Stach was arrested for causing a disturbance.

Every aspect of the product is shaped to produce an effect. The smile, the tilt of the head, the gesture, the stance, the wave, the cadence and intonation of voice–all are consciously cultivated and crafted. As new market data becomes available, the product is updated to reflect the changes for maximum salability.
Barack Obama is a manufactured, packaged, marketed and sold product. If you voted for Barack Obama, you consumed the Democrat brand politician product “Obama”. What is the function and purpose of the Obama product? What emotional need does it fulfill? To answer these questions, we must first identify the aims of the corporate manufacturers of the product.
At this point it’s instructive to watch character Arthur Jensen’s pivotal monologue in the film, “Network”. Here, Jensen informs Howard Beale of the nature of the world–that the world is a business and that democracy is an illusion.
It’s interesting to note that the path of the awakened and the ignorant are both ruled by emotions. In “The Matrix”, Morpheus tells Neo, “You are a slave, Neo” and offers him a choice a a blue pill which will return him to blissful ignorance or a red pill which will reveal the truth.
It is the choice between one product or another. Neo chooses based on the emotional need fulfillment particular to himself. He chooses to know truth. The vast majority, however, will pay extra for the bliss of ignorance. The System and its product design teams know this and so provide products which correspond to this reality in order to maximize sales and profit for the corporation and maintain the stability of the System itself.
Since a certain number of Neo class consumers wanted a “Truth” product which represented Hope and real Change, the free market for political product (such as it exists through the temporary crucible of the internet) eventually met this need in the form of a quiet, thoughtful doctor from Texas by the name of Ron Paul. The Truth Seekers became evangelists and co-creators of the Ron Paul product, developing it together to fulfill real needs for constitutional, accountable government, freedom from oppression, the end to war, prosperity and Hope for America. Unfortunately, the Ron Paul product was not adopted by the greater part of the marketplace for politician products and so went the way of similar superior products, such as the electric car.
The System observed the spontaneous creation and development of the Ron Paul product and was at once intrigued and frightened. It saw that there was a deep emotional need in the market for a Change-like product which inspired Hope and yet strategically were challenged by the demand for a politician of true substance. Substance is very expensive and not profitable.
They set about the task of seizing control of this market for a Change and Hope politician. They quickly designed a product, the Obama, which gave the consumer much of the same emotional gratification as the Ron Paul product without any of the costs associated with actual substance. The corporate manufacturers of Politician products realized that most consumers will do anything to avoid taking the red pill of Truth which would cause them to see the Matrix for what it is–a system of enslavement. These consumers are Comfort Seekers rather than Truth Seekers. They could however be made to buy into a product which causes them to feel as though they had attained “Truth” while simultaneously denying reality. In George Orwell’s “1984″, this form of mind control is known as “doublethink”.
Consumers of the “Obama” politician product are buying a sense that they have bucked the System by choosing a Change and Hope labeled product. Yet they are purchasing the emotional feeling associated with the product only. In a world of brutal realities, Barack Obama is ‘Hope You Can Cling To”.
Barack Obama is the pasteurized, processed food substitute of politics. He gives the appearance of being real, is easily consumable by large numbers, gives a sense of momentary gratification and makes consumers feel good about themselves. Obama is a new iPod. Or a shiny SUV. Or a Double Moccachino Latte. He is a vacation far away from the hard work of reality to Fantasy Island.
Obama is a convenience that buys the consumer four more years to slumber in doublethink denial that we live in anything other than a dictatorship of elite interests led by the international bankers who bankrolled the marketing of a phony Hope and Change product all the way to #1 market share.
Tonight, the American people have purchased a bill of goods. OK, America. You bought it. Now Obama will break it. How long will the denial last?

We have a unique opportunity to make some real changes come Tuesday, November 4, 2008. This election year is critical to this country and people have been adamant about wanting change, yet they are still aligning themselves with the very culprits that put us in this mess in the first place. With all the House seats and one-third of the Senate seats up for re-election and the Presidential election at hand, there is no time like the present to take charge of our future!
One of the things that just floors me is how little the dedicated people working for these candidates knows about what the candidates support. For instance, I have received calls from and seen canvassers for several of the candidates. They are very friendly people, just trying to lend support the person they think is best in this election. Yet, as volunteers for their candidate of choice, they don’t know key things that, as free US Citizens, they should.
Early in the summer, I received a call from the Clinton campaign. Upon finding out that I had no intention of supporting her, the caller starting asking other questions. So I took the opportunity to let her know that I did political research for a living and while she was telling me one thing I knew it to be different. She seemed unaware of Ms. Clinton’s voting record with regards to our freedoms. Taking the opportunity to inform her about her loss of liberties with regard to the passing, and Ms. Clinton’s support of, the USA PATRIOT Act, she didn’t know what to say. She hung up, however, telling me she would look into it.
Canvassers from the Ron Paul campaign, whom I feel is more highly qualified than our current choice from the Republican Party, stopped by in early summer, as well. I took the opportunity to ask why Dr Paul missed a few very key votes, with regard to our freedoms. This volunteer had no idea what I was talking about. I then informed him that Dr. Paul missed voting for HR 1955, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Act of 2007. I don’t care if he misses a vote for whom to name a post office, but this is a key piece of legislation. Since that time, he has also missed voting on another key piece of legislation, HR 6304, the FISA Amendment Act of 2008.
Sunday, November 2nd, someone from the Obama campaign dropped by asking if Obama could count on my support on Tuesday. I said, “Absolutely not!” He looked astounded that I was so firm, so I told him not to worry, I wouldn’t be voting for McCain, either. At this point he looked even more astonished and asked, “So you are not going to vote?” I assured him I planned to vote, just not for a Democrat or a Republican. At this point, I could actually see the “why throw your vote away” question dancing in his head. As we stood there for a moment, I realized he needed some information.
This information is good for all Democrats and Republicans, so I will address those people now. Your candidate does not support you. Your candidate is not looking out for your best interests. If you value your civil liberties, the Constitution and your God-given rights, your candidate does not support you.
The USA PATRIOT Act of 2001 and its Re-Authorization are one of the earliest pieces of nefarious legislation during the Bush administration. The name itself was likely chosen to instill “patriotism.” This legislation either negates or undermines at least 6 of our beloved liberties, including the Free Speech, Privacy and Due Process. It saw librarians being required to turn over records of their patrons, without their knowledge, at the request of the FBI. It saw the implementation of the reprehensible Sneak and Peak provision, the loss our right to due process if we are even THOUGHT to be a terrorist, said “terrorists” can be held indefinitely without the chance to contact a lawyer or the opportunity to face our accuser. In addition, being held indefinitely would certainly fall under the category of unusual punishment, to be sure, depriving us of our 13th Amendment rights, as well!
Yet, with all of that, our Democratic and Republican hopefuls for President voted FOR this legislation and against our liberty. (Technically, Obama wasn’t in office for the first one but voted for its re-authorization. McCain and Biden voted for it both times!) These people do not represent you!
While Obama says he will bring the troops home, he voted for several emergency appropriations bills, keeping our troops in Iraq. This war is not even legal, as Congress never declared it a war (and the President cannot declare war!), yet we are pouring billions and billions of dollars into this wicked black hole and losing good men and women in a “war” that we clearly should not have started. We know McCain supports the war, as he says it at every turn. Yet people across the nation are ready to end this atrocity and bring the troops home. Are the candidates listening? These people do not represent you!
What about Posse Comitatus? HR 5122, The John Warner National Defense Authorization Act of 2007, gave government the authority to use, for the first time since the Reconstruction, our military as police and peacekeepers. They did so in the Katrina disaster in New Orleans. While that part of the bill is said to have been rescinded with the passage of HR 4986, one has to wonder what is NorthCom doing with the Army’s 3rd Infantry, First Brigade Combat Team at its command? Has Posse Comitatus really been rescinded? It certainly doesn’t appear so? And, both Obama and McCain voted for this legislation, along with Biden. These people do not represent you!
What about Torture? Do you favor water boarding or some of the other disturbing techniques used to torture foreign captives for information? Title X of HR 2863, an appropriations bill, states that while in US custody, no one will be subjected to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment and that the no punishment will be used that is not specifically outlined by the U.S. Army Field Manual on Intelligence Interrogation. Only problem there is that the Field manual used to be an open book…literally. It was rewritten in some time before December 2005, and since that time 10 pages have been classified, giving us no way to know just what the DoD considers torture. With this in mind, Obama, McCain and Biden voted for this bill. Again I ask, are you in favor of water boarding? These people do not represent you!
The FISA Amendments Act of 2008 saw sitting Congressman and women, Obama included, blatantly vote against the Constitution and their Oaths of Office and for a piece of legislation that strips US Citizens of their right to privacy. This bill gives retroactive immunity to the Telecommunications companies involved in illegally wiretapping US Citizens on American soil. There were laws in place from which any US spy agency could legally obtain what they needed, but Bush wanted to circumvent the law, and our congress let him and the telecoms off the hook. Feingold fought hard against this legislation, and in the end, stated that the passage was a shame, but the only way to turn it all around would be to vote for a Democrat for President. Perhaps Feingold missed that his parties Presidential hopeful, Obama, voted for this bill. McCain did not vote. These people do not represent you!
Finally, we have the nasty piece of Bush/Paulson legislation, HR 1424, known “endearingly” and the Bailout Legislation, but formally entitled the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. Our Congress voted to bail out Wall Street, not you and me, Wall Street. They did not vote to aid us in our struggle to pay our mortgages or our gasoline bills or even help us put food on the table. They voted to gouge the taxpayers to help out Wall Street, with the taxpayers screaming at the top of their lungs, “hell no!” they still voted for this wicked little $700 Billion and growing piece of nonsense. And, yes, Obama, McCain and Biden all voted for this. These people do not represent you!
It is extremely apparent that these gentlemen do not care about what is best for this nation’s citizens. Our Country was founded as a Constitutional Republic for a reason. So that we do not make judgments or laws that hold us down and strip us of our freedoms, so that we will follow the rule of law in our Supreme Law, The Constitution of the United States of America, and not be governed by emotion or mob rule, so that every one of us has an equal chance. Yet, as we can see, this government, along with the Republicans and Democrats have, little by little, stripped us of what we should hold dear!
It is time we send a clear message to Washington DC and the political garbage that resides there. GET OUT! Now will be the best time to make that change. ALL House of Representative seats are up for election, as well as one-third of the Senate, and the Presidency. You want change? Vote for change you can believe in, which clearly does not include a Democrat or Republican! This is our best opportunity to clean house and start with new blood! You better take it while you still can!

After distributing a jocular flyer listing “Top Ten Gun Safety Tips” at the school’s “club rush,” a student group was threatened with probation and derecognition at Lone Star College–Tomball, a public college near Houston. After college officials banned the Young Conservatives of Texas from distributing the flyer, the school’s general counsel invoked the specter of the Virginia Tech shootings, suggesting that even a “mention of firearms and weapons” is inherently a “material interference” with the school’s operations. I have not been harping on the one aspect of America’s devolution into a police state that bothers me most: namely, the double standard by which a police officer can assault and even murder innocent people with legal impunity while the average Joe/Jane is crushed beneath a jackboot for the slightest perceived infraction. (BTW, I know some people think I should be more upset by other aspects…but that’s the chocolate v. vanilla debate.) What prompts me to write about the thugs who call themselves “peace officers” is my stumbling over four different stories in close succession.
Number 1: You won’t see this story in an episode of Cops!: A newlywed killed by police after he stepped outside his home to confront suspected burglars was shot in a case of mistaken identity, police said.
As I understand the article, the four kids suspected of burglary were eventually apprehended, questioned and not even arrested. In pursuit of the non-arrested (and presumably unarmed) kids, a 10-year-veteran of the police force — and, so, not a nervous or ‘cowboy’ newbie — considered the situation to constitute such a threat to public safety that he conducted a foot chase at night through a residential area with gun drawn, prepared to use deadly force. Which he did. For shooting an innocent, unarmed man twice through the chest, the officer in question has been placed on paid leave. What a great job! If I shot a man to death as part of my job as a writer, my ass would land and hard in a jail cell. This clown gets a paid vacation pending investigation by people who have a vested interest in finding the shooting to have been justified. I hope the woman he married the weekend before, who is expecting their first child, goes for justice rather than hush-money from the police department.
Number 2: WorldNetDaily reports: A Florida sheriff who trespassed and punched a driver in the face during a road-rage fight will not face criminal charges or lose his job – despite 13 citizen complaints filed against him in 12 years. The story: Jacksonville sheriff Sgt. Roderic Feacher claims Charles Rowe tried to run him off the road. (Sounds like someone passed him on the highway.) The off-duty Feacher pursued Rowe to his home and refused to leave the property when asked to do so. Rowe and a neighbor claim the officer began punching the man without provocation and choked him. However, the officer claims Rowe “belly-bumped” him, so he only threw one punch. According to the Florida Times Union, The State Attorney’s Office declined to file criminal charges, preferring to dock the thug 10-days pay.
Number 3: From the Atlanta Journal Constitution: A Texas man was arrested for letting girlfriend eat off his plate in a buffet restaurant. Dan Linscomb, 40, of Texas City, Texas, ate the buffet at the Iron Skillet restaurant in northwest Atlanta on Oct. 21. He admitted, an Atlanta police report said, that his girlfriend “ate a couple bites from his plate.” When he was charged for two $7 buffet meals, Linscomb refused to pay for one of them. He said that “there were no signs in the restaurant that said someone could not have some food off your plate,” the report said. The restaurant staff called police, who came to the restaurant on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and arrested Linscomb on a charge of theft of services. He was taken to Fulton County Jail.
Number 4: From WorldNetDaily: A Kansas resident is claiming he has been unfairly threatened by officers after he hand delivered a note to a police department administrator explaining why he will not vote for Obama He was charged with criminal trespass. Chapter 21, Section 3721(a) of Kansas law states criminal trespassing is when a “person enters or remains therein in defiance of an order not to enter or to leave such premises or property personally communicated to such person by the owner thereof or other authorized person.” But Garner said he was never aggressive, and he left Murphree’s property immediately. However, police still met him on his doorstep.
In other words, the police can beat and kill you (the average person) with legal impunity while you must walk on legal eggshells re: the most minor of civil infractions…which, arguably, may not arrestable offenses at all.
