An Indiana county municipal official in the vicinity of Chicago reveals the contents of his meetings with FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security. The initial requests seem reasonable enough when FEMA asks the county officials to prepare a Hazard Mitigation Plan to deal with flooding, fires, high winds and tornadoes.

But as the required meetings and calls with FEMA and DHS continue over a two year period their request become more unusual, raising suspicions of county officials.

We want to know every important thing in this county. We want to know where police departments are. Where weapons are stored. Hazardous material. Where can we land a helicopter. Where are the airports. How big a plane can you land at the airport. Where are all the bridges. Where are all the power stations. Where are all the generating stations.Where are all the substations. They literally wanted to know where everything was. I’m sitting there thinking man if there was ever martial law. This kind of information is exactly the kind of stuff they are going to want. We’re just laying it all out for them right there.”

During the legally mandated meetings held with FEMA and DHS different disaster scenarios were reveled to county officials:

• In late December 2008 municipal officials were invited to Indianapolis for a briefing on the state of Indiana. There were told if industry were to collapse for example GM going bankrupt resulting in mass unemployment a depression would soon follow and municipalities could expect to loose 40% of their funds.
• Every county in the nation would be required to prepare a Hazard Mitigation Plan.
• The county should prepare a plan to vaccinate the entire population within 48 hours and practice the plan several times.
• FEMA inquired to where mass graves could be placed in the county and would they accept bodies from elsewhere.
• The sheriff’s department via the state sheriff association was told that no .223 ammunition rounds would be available as the military would be purchasing all stocks.
• The county was asked to make plans for “hardening” of police and fire stations, putting in hardened bunker type buildings around town.
• The county was asked to make plans for the possibility of up to 400,000 refugees from Chicago.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Police in South Carolina gave away roses on Valentine’s Day. All you had to do to get one for your sweetie was turn in a gun.

Hoping to get the weapons off the streets with the “Guns for Roses” program, authorities in two central South Carolina cities set up a program where anyone who turned in a gun received a free rose and a Best Buy gift card.

At a Columbia church, five cars lined up to give away guns before the exchange had even started. At the end of the day, Columbia area police had collected 191 weapons and police in Sumter collected 32.

“We’ve got a great turnout so far,” Richland County sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Chris Cowan said.

A handgun was worth a $100 gift card, while a rifle or shotgun netted a $50 gift certificate. Cowan said one man turned in six handguns, worth $600 in gift cards.

Cowan did not immediately have a total value for gift cards given out. Sumter Police Chief Patty Patterson said her program gave out $550 in gift cards for long guns and $2,100 for handguns.

There was no amnesty for those turning in the guns. The weapons were being checked to see if they were stolen, names and addresses were jotted down and ballistics tests would also be done to see if the firearm was used in a crime.

Both Cowan and Patterson said there were no incidents and no arrests made Saturday.

This is interesting…I showed the picture to my daughter, who loves the National Mall, and she couldn’t believe it! Her reaction was, “why wouldn’t they pick up their trash?” Honestly, this does make me very sad…From Virginia…

This is why they needed $21 million to re-sod the National Mall. Perhaps President Hussien should take the money out of his vast millions that he received to pay for the inauguration and clean up this mess!!

This is an appalling scene at the Washington Mall, with the Washington Monument in the distance, there is absolute destruction of public property in the foreground. If we are dealing with a “Messiah”, maybe he can transform this collective mentality of apathy and irresponsibility. This photo is a metaphor for what we are about to see in our country. So, this “crowd” was too “mesmerized” to take their trash with them? I can’t help but make this connection..the scene looks like a landfill, and it speaks volumes about the crowd who stood there. Lack of responsibility, lack of forethought, lack of respect, and expectations, expectations, expectations.. Messiah? No one was really listening, obviously.

Nine years after NATO’s bombing of Serbia, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is still taking lives in Kosovo, Serbia’s Pressonline reported. The NATO allegedly used shells with depleted uranium which are still today causing an increase in the number of cancer patients.

Prior to 1999, the number of Serbs who suffered from malignant tumors was three times lesser. In Kosovo’s Kosovska Mitrovica in 2005 there were 38 percent more cancer patients than in 2004.

In those two years, a total of 3,500 cancer cases in Kosovo Albanians were diagnosed.

Globally, six people out of a thousand suffer from malignant tumours on average. In the Kosovska Mitrovica hospital, there are 200 cancer patients to 1,000 people.

NATO used weapons banned by international conventions?

After 2000, groups of experts in atomic energy tested water, food, air, plants and animals to establish the damage caused by radiation from NATO shells. Beta and Gamma radiation was higher than the permissible level and radiation was discovered in the soil, water, plants and animals. After it gets into the soil, it takes some 250 years for depleted uranium to degrade.

The conclusions of the studies were that the environment on 100 locations in Kosovo was not safe for animals or people, but no bans or moving of the population was carried out.

European peace troops stationed in Kosovo knew there was great danger of radiation in these areas. Italian military experts concluded in 2005 that 34 soldiers had died from leukemia and various malignant tumors. Since then 150 soldiers from Kosovo were sent home.

In mid-2000 NATO published a map with 112 marked locations that had been shelled with depleted uranium. Over the 78 days of NATO bombing, a total of 31,000 shells with depleted uranium, weapons banned by international treaties, were dropped in Kosovo.

I told the officers from a distance that we had done nothing wrong and therefore were not interested in having a discussion. As mentioned, it was 2:15 am and we were in the process of hailing a cab. The moment I turned away from the officers, they both proceeded to sprint in my direction and forcibly restrain and handcuff me. Without any sort of explanation, I was thrown in the back of a squad car and driven to a nearby station. Vincent was left on the sidewalk having no idea why I had been abducted.

Houston Astros shortstop Miguel Tejada was charged Tuesday with lying to the US Congress about taking a performance-enhancing substance. Tajeda is expected to plead guilty to lying to a Congressional investigation about taking steroids and about knowledge of other players taking steroids.

Tajeda’s alleged lies about the steroid usage did not result in one person, and certainly not 1.3+ million people, being killed.

Tajeda’s alleged lie was not a pretext to enable launching an assault on human beings. Moreover, his alleged steroid usage did not result in widespread destruction of another country’s economic infrastructure, hospitals, centers of worship, schools, the ransacking of a country’s historical artifacts, the littering of a country with depleted uranium. It did not result in war crimes being committed with glaring impunity. It did not result in the erasure of habeas corpus, the humiliation and torture of captives, and setting up of gulags around the world. Tajeda did not occupy another person’s land.

A private contractor at the British Embassy in Iraq has been removed from his post after a second round of sexual harassment claims against him, sources say.

The unidentified British manager for the U.S. company Kellogg Brown and Root was allowed to return to his job at the embassy in 2007 after the company performed an internal investigation on allegations he had sexually harassed and Iraqi cleaner and two cooks, The Times of London reported Wednesday.

But a fresh round allegations, this time accusing the KBR manager of having sexual relations with a female Iraqi employee on embassy property, has resulted in the manager being suspended and flown out of the country, unnamed sources told the newspaper.

The new accusations are an embarrassment to British Foreign Secretary David Miliband, The Times said, because the three Iraqis who filed the first allegations were never questioned and lost their jobs while Miliband allowed KBR to conduct its own investigation of the incident despite conflict-of-interest concerns.

A spokeswoman for KBR would not comment on the new claims, The Times said.

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - PandaLabs, a computer security firm, is reporting that cyber-crooks are setting traps on popular news-sharing website Digg.

Criminals pose as legitimate Digg members and then entice readers with bogus links to scintillating online video in comments posted in forums related to celebrity news, according to the Spain-based firm.

Digg is a website at which stories from throughout the Internet are gathered and then given prominence depending on votes, or “diggs,” they get from website members.

Digg members chat about stories in accompanying online forums.

PandaLabs said cyber-frauds post comments claiming to have links to video of starlets having sex or stars getting into trouble.

Those that follow such links are prompted to download software to view the promised video.

What is actually installed is a program that pretends to scan computers for malicious software, claims to find critical problems and then offers to eliminate the supposed trouble at a price.

“To make its claims more believable, it prevents the system from operating correctly,” PandaLabs said of the malicious software ruse. “The aim is obviously to profit from sales of this spoof security solution.”

PandaLabs said a preliminary analysis of Digg revealed more than 50 profiles that left comments to lure members into the trap.

“We are fully aware of the issue at hand and have already taken action,” Digg community manager Jen Burton said in an emailed response to an AFP inquiry.

“Malware accounts reported to us by the community are terminated immediately and all content is removed.”

Burton said Digg has terminated more than 300 accounts suspected of spreading malware.

The WOU student who was falsely arrested and charged with possession of a firearm in a public building, had all his criminal charges dropped by the Polk County DA tonight.(02-10-2009)

The DA admitted no wrongdoing on his part, or on the part of the police who arrested Jeff Maxwell for a “crime” that does not exist.

In a statement released to OFF’s attorney, the DA said “I believe the Monmouth Police Department issued the citation in good faith and that there was an arguable violation. However, a careful reading of the statute and the facts led me to conclude the charge was not in the best interest of justice.”

“Not in the best interest of justice.” There was NO CRIME. But it gets worse. Much worse.

The college still got to “try” Jeff Maxwell. And they did tonight.

Maxwell asked to have his “trial” open to the public, which is his right, but was denied.

The tribunal was told repeatedly that they lacked the authority to impose a rule dealing with firearms. But the children who sat in judgment of the veteran were not interested in the law or the facts. They were only interested in attacking and embarrassing a man who had committed no crime but had chosen to exercise his right to protect himself and others.

The “trial” was a sham. No one present even seemed to know what the “charge” was. When confronted by the fact that the school has no authority to make rules about firearms, they said that was “not relevant.” Then they said they were not charging Maxwell with having a firearm. When asked what they WERE charging him with, they seemed to not know. They then said they were charging him with having a “knife and a rifle in his car.” When told they had no authority to make rules about guns in his car, they said THAT was not “relevant.”

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico (Reuters)

Mexican soldiers fought gun battles with drug cartel hitmen near the U.S. border on Tuesday after gangsters abducted local police in violence that killed 21 people and left bodies strewn in the desert.

Soldiers pursued the hit men through freezing desert in the northern state of Chihuahua after they dragged nine people, including some police, out of houses and shot six of them at a ranch in the early hours of Tuesday, the army said.

Heavily armed soldiers burst into the ranch, near the Texan border, and shot dead several of the hitmen, later chasing another group by helicopter before killing them too, army spokesman Enrique Torres said from the area.

“The bodies were strewn across the desert outside the nearby town of Villa Ahumada,” said Torres. An army sergeant was among the dead.

It was one of the bloodiest scenes this year in a spiraling drug war that killed more than 5,700 people across Mexico in 2008, damaging the public’s faith in President Felipe Calderon and raising fears of a spillover into the United States.

Calderon deployed the army and federal police to tackle drug violence at the end of 2006, triggering a series of vicious turf battles between rival cartels.

It is not easy reading, but if you are able to struggle through it you will be chilled to the bone by the lies, misinformation, and disinformation used to warrant government control of all gun ownership, and the intentions inferred between the lines of this bill.

The next step on the administration’s agenda, if this bill passes, will be confiscation of your guns and or your arrest. If you register all of your guns as this bill dictates they will be confiscated. If you don’t register your guns, they will still be confiscated, but YOU will be arrested as a criminal.

The House overwhelmingly adopted legislation this week mandating the creation of a new kind of terrorist watchlist: a database of people who aren’t terrorists, but are routinely flagged at airports anyway.

The U.S. government maintains a list of about a million names of suspected terrorists that is crosschecked with passenger names ahead of airline boarding. The list has been dogged for years by sloppy name matches that have ensnared innocent travelers, children, prominent politicians and government officials, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ secretary of education and all men named David Nelson.

Under the new plan, approved late Tuesday 413-3, innocent victims of the terrorist watchlist must prove to the Department of Homeland Security, through an undetermined appeals process, that they are not terrorists. They would then get their names put on what the legislation calls the “Comprehensive Cleared List.”

The legislation is another attempt to assist wrongly flagged passengers and would supersede the troubled DHS Traveler Redress Inquiry Program, which has been criticized for being slow or unresponsive to flier complaints.

The FAST Redress Act, if approved by the Senate, requires the government to report within 240 days on its progress in implementing the new list.

WASHINGTON – Hackers broke into the Federal Aviation Administration’s computer system last week, accessing the names and Social Security numbers of 45,000 employees and retirees.

The agency said in a statement Monday that two of the 48 files on the breached computer server contained personal information about employees and retires who were on the FAA’s rolls as of the first week of February 2006.

The server that was accessed was not connected to the operation of the air traffic control system and there is no indication those systems have been compromised, the statement said.

“The FAA is moving quickly to prevent any similar incidents and has identified immediate steps as well as longer-term measures to further protect personal information,” the statement said. The agency said it is providing a toll-free number for employees “who believe they may be affected by the breach.”

Tom Waters, president of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3290, said FAA officials told unions representing agency employees at a briefing Monday that the second breached file with personal information contained encrypted medical information.

“These government systems should be the best in the world and apparently they are able to be compromised,” said Waters, an FAA contracts attorney. “Our information technology systems people need to take a long hard look at themselves and their capabilities. This is malpractice in their world.”

The FAA statement said the data theft has been reported to “law enforcement authorities,” who are investigating.

All affected employees will receive letters notifying them of the breach, the statement said.

Waters said FAA officials told union leaders the incident was the first of its kind at the agency. But he said his union complained about three or four years ago about an incident in which employees received anti-union mail that used names and addresses that appeared to be generated from FAA computer files.

He said the union complained to the FAA and the Transportation Department’s inspector general but no action was taken.

Congratulations! With your help Virginians had a Real ID Act victory last week, as both anti Real ID bills - H.B.1587 & S.B.1431 - were reported, unchanged, out of the House & Senate Transportation Committees. This means these committees heard you! But the battle is not over. We must now join the fight onto the larger battleground of the full House of Delegates, and then on to the Senate. But remember, Virginia’s legislative session is very short and we still have a lot of work to do. Whether or not you live in Virginia, we must act, and act quickly! The House is expected to vote on this issue this week!

Virginia’s Governor Kaine supports Real ID, and his buddies control the Virginia Senate. So we will first concentrate our efforts on the House of Delegates. Del. Marshall is to be commended for not caving to the pressure of Speaker Howell last week, as evidenced by Del. Janis’ attempt to rewrite his bill to actually implement Real ID. But we must do more than voice our unalterable support for Marshall’s bill, we must also support Del. Athey’s budget amendment, #441-1h, which will prevent the House of Delegates from providing funding for Real ID compliance.

It’s possible Del. Marshall’s bill will be amended beyond all recognition, mutilated to the point that the American Policy Center and all freedom-loving Americans cannot support it. And even if this bill is passed unaltered by the House, we will fight an uphill battle in the Senate, and finally, Governor Kaine may decide to veto it. So we must presume and prepare for the worst case scenario, while doing all we can to achieve complete victory.

Our highest achievement will be a clean Opt Out bill. Most politicians would rather vote for a bill than to vote against a budget, so our strongest effort must be to pressure delegates to pass Del. Marshall’s bill, H.B. 1157, unaltered by hostile amendments. But we must also demand no budget be passed which will fund Real ID!

Please note: It does not matter if you are a resident of Virginia or not. Make the calls. A flood of calls to delegate offices will make a difference. We need to make them feel the heat to preserve American privacy rights. We must make these calls now!

ACTION TO TAKE

Don’t let any delegate tell you that voting against funding is no longer needed because Bob Marshall’s H.B. 1587 takes care of the problem. That’s a long shot, and not worth the risk!

Is the Army missing some nerve gas?

Pentagon auditors concede that is a remote possibility because of discrepancies in records between how much chemical weapons agent was initially stored and how much of it was later destroyed at Utah’s Deseret Chemical Depot and other bases nationwide.

But officials believe all the nerve agent in question was destroyed, according to a partially censored U.S. Army Audit Agency report obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request. Auditors list in it several reasons that could have caused apparent-but-unreal variances in those records.

But auditors concluded, “The (Army Chemical Materials) Agency didn’t have complete assurance that amounts recorded in the system were accurate, which increased its chances for heightened levels of program scrutiny by federal, state and international organizations that have a vested interest in the elimination of chemical weapons.”

Such words can cause shivers among Utahns who remember such things as the death of thousands of sheep in Skull Valley in 1968 that were blamed on nerve gas tests that went awry at nearby Dugway Proving Ground, and Skull Valley residents who have blamed mysterious illnesses on exposure to tiny amounts of nerve agent from such tests.

Millions of Americans went to the International Brotherhood of Banksters, in good faith, to begin what they considered to be the beginning of the American Dream – Home ownership.

Freddie and Fannie, Banks, the FED, Credit Unions, Savings and Loan, all involved in the business of creating money via journal entry without actual currency to back it up. The Obama administration has published a high-level plan to protect U.S. computer networks, saying it considers cyber infrastructure “a strategic asset” and will appoint a cyber adviser who will report directly to the president.

The six-point outline was published Wednesday as part of a paper detailing the new administration’s position on homeland security. Also planned is a “safe computing R&D effort” to build the next generation of security features into computers, and plans to fight cyber-espionage and cybercrime by cracking down on “untraceable Internet payment schemes.”

The administration also wants to develop standards for securing data and making companies disclose data breaches, something that is governed by a patchwork of state laws at present.

A United Nations human rights treaty that could prohibit children from being spanked or homeschooled, ban youngsters from facing the death penalty and forbid parents from deciding their families’ religion is on America’s doorstep, a legal expert warns.

Michael Farris of Purcellville, Va., is president of ParentalRights.org, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association and chancellor of Patrick Henry College. He told WND that under the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, or CRC, every decision a parent makes can be reviewed by the government to determine whether it is in the child’s best interest.

“It’s definitely on our doorstep,” he said. “The left wants to make the Obama-Clinton era permanent. Treaties are a way to make it as permanent as stuff gets. It is very difficult to extract yourself from a treaty once you begin it. If they can put all of their left-wing socialist policies into treaty form, we’re stuck with it even if they lose the next election.”

The U.S. Defense Department concluded in 2007 that Blackwater Worldwide contractors can’t be prosecuted under federal law for a shooting incident in Iraq that left 17 civilians dead.

In a letter to North Carolina Representative David Price, Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England said contractors are subject to prosecution under federal law for alleged misconduct committed overseas only when they are working for the Pentagon or supporting its mission.

Blackwater was working for the State Department when the September 2007 incident took place in Baghdad. The company was “not engaged in employment that was in support of the DoD mission,” England said in a letter to Price on Dec. 14, 2007.

The Democratic congressman’s office released a copy of the letter today. It was reported earlier by the Associated Press.

A spokesman for Price, Paul Cox, said in an e-mailed statement: “Regardless of the views expressed in this letter, it’s up to the courts alone to determine whether these security contractors fall under federal criminal jurisdiction.”

Five Blackwater employees were charged in December with manslaughter and weapons violations in connection with the shooting incident. A sixth employee pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter. The Moyock, North Carolina-based company wasn’t charged in the case.

The Justice Department on Jan. 27 filed a legal brief arguing that the law governing the criminal actions of Pentagon contractors should apply to the Blackwater employees. Government lawyers argued that both the State and Defense Departments had a common mission to stabilize Iraq.

“Both departments fulfill mutually supporting responsibilities and work hand-in-hand to achieve that single, common objective,” the brief said.

Dean Boyd, a Justice Department spokesman, said today that the government’s prosecution of the Blackwater employees will continue. “We’re going forward,” he said.

Blackwater spokeswoman Anne Tyrrell declined to comment on the letter.

of his investors. After Lowrance’s usual procrastination, on November
10, 2008, I received his guarantee in writing regarding investor’s
principle and we also received the client list around this time.

A Christian nurse in Britain may soon be fired for offering to pray for her patients’ recovery.

Caroline Petrie has been suspended and faces disciplinary action because her employer claims she failed to show a “personal and professional commitment to equality and diversity” when she suggested the prayer, the London Telegraph reported.

Petrie, 45, a wife and mother of two, is a community nurse
who works for North Somerset Primary Care Trust. As part of her job, she visits patients who are sick and elderly. Petrie said she never forced her Christian beliefs on any of her patients but simply asked if an elderly woman would appreciate the blessing.

“I simply couldn’t believe that I have been suspended over this,” she told the Telegraph. “I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. All I am trying to do is help my patients, many of whom want me to pray for them.” Read More
