The Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office was evacuated for about 30 minutes Thursday afternoon after someone called in a bomb threat into City Hall, authorities said.Laura Jesse, a Bexar County spokeswoman, said the call was received about 1:10 p.m. Thursday at City Hall. Jesse said employees at the Vista Verde Plaza Building were told to look for anything unusual around their work stations, and patrons were moved out less than an hour later.Authorities began to allow people back into the building at about 2:30 p.m. after no bomb was found.

VALHALLA, NEW YORK— Police reopened the Taconic Parkway and train service through Valhalla has resumed this afternoon after a suspicious, duct-taped bottle turned out to contain only cigarette butts and water, authorities said.State, county and local police and a bomb squad were sent to investigate at about 1:30 p.m. after someone reported finding a white plastic jar five feet from the train tracks, on the north side of the Valhalla Crossing restaurant, Mount Pleasant Sgt. Michael Pierce said. Traffic was diverted off the Taconic, and train service was stopped until the county bomb squad determined it was actually a mayonnaise container, Pierce said. The highway and train line were reopened at 2:19 p.m.”It ended up being a commercial mayonnaise bottle that was duct taped around the top,” he said. “The bomb squad came and did what they had to do and it pretty much checked out.”

This document is a classified (SECRET/NOFORN) 32 page U.S. counterintelligence investigation into WikiLeaks.“The possibility that current employees or moles within DoD or elsewhere in the U.S. government are providing sensitive or classified information to Wikileaks.org cannot be ruled out”. It concocts a plan to fatally marginalize the organization. Since WikiLeaks uses “trust as a center of gravity by protecting the anonymity and identity of the insiders, leakers or whisteblowers”, the report recommends “The identification, exposure, termination of employment,criminal prosecution, legal action against current or former insiders, leakers, or whistlblowers could potentially damage or destroy this center of gravity and deter others considering similar actions from using the Wikileaks.org Web site”. [As two years have passed since the date of the report, with no WikiLeaks’ source exposed, it appears that this plan was ineffective]. As an odd justification for the plan, the report claims that “Several foreign countries including China,Israel, North Korea, Russia, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe have denounced or blocked access to the Wikileaks.org website”.The report provides further justification by enumerating embarrassing stories broken by WikiLeaks—U.S. equipment expenditure in Iraq, probable U.S. violations of the Chemical Warfare Convention Treaty in Iraq, the battle over the Iraqi town of Fallujah and human rights violations at Guantanamo Bay.

It was every businessperson’s nightmare.Arriving at Harv’s Metro Car Wash in
midtown Wednesday afternoon were two dark-suited IRS agents demanding payment of delinquent taxes. “They were deadly serious, very aggressive, very condescending,” says Harv’s owner, Aaron Zeff. The really odd part of this: The letter that was hand-delivered to Zeff’s on-site manager showed the amount of money owed to the feds was … 4 cents. Inexplicably, penalties and taxes accruing on the debt – stemming from the 2006 tax year – were listed as $202.31, leaving Harv’s with an obligation of $202.35. Zeff, who also owns local parking lots and is the president of the Midtown Business Association, finds the situation a bit comical. “It’s hilarious,” he says, “that two people hopped in a car and came down here for just 4 cents. I think (the IRS) may have a problem with priorities.” Now he’s trying to figure out how penalties and interest could climb so high on such a small debt. He says he’s never been told he owes any taxes or that he’s ever incurred any late-payment penalties in the four years he’s owned Harv’s. In fact, he provided us with an Oct. 22, 2009, letter from the IRS that states Harv’s “has filed all required returns and addressed any balances due.” IRS spokesman Jesse Weller isn’t commenting “due to privacy and disclosure laws.” Zeff says he’s as offended as much as anything else by what he considers rude behavior by the IRS guys. While at Harv’s, he sniffs, “they didn’t even get a car wash.”

Winter is slowly melting away here in the U.S., and Spring will soon be upon us. Wall Street is currently flush with delight at the year long run of the stock market (driven by fiat bailouts), which at first glance appears to be doing quite well, though international incidences such as those in Dubai and Greece have revealed how shaky the market actually is in the face of any unhealthy news. In the meantime, the dollar, recently on the edge of detrimental value loss, has made a semi-miraculous recovery in the span of a few months, especially as the Euro suffers. Official employment numbers, despite the continuous loss of jobs monthly, have somehow fallen and are for the moment stabilized. Is it time for America to dust off the old credit cards and return to the wild and rollicking carefree spending days of pre-2007? Perhaps not… While the mainstream media puts on the recovery song and dance, the fundamental problems of the collapse remain the same, and in some cases are growing ever more precarious. Subsections of the public, unaware of the real issues at hand, are holding a misguided jubilee in the tranquil eye of a hurricane, wrongly assuming that the storm has passed. The world is breathing a hasty sigh of relief at the beginning of 2010, but what are the facts behind the current “peaceful” economic moment? Students Throw Cotton Balls, Are Arrested for Felony Hate Crime

Two students at the University of Missouri-Columbia were suspended Wednesday after their arrests in a case of cotton balls thrown across the lawn of the campus black-culture center.
Campus police on Tuesday evening arrested the students, one of whom is from the St. Louis area, on suspicion of a felony hate crime. The two were released on bond, and charges were pending.
The incident happened early Friday at the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center, near the middle of campus. Nathan Stephens, the center’s coordinator, said students were offended because of the “symbolic violence” that harkened to days of slavery on cotton plantations.

Two Arrested for Possible Plot Against Texas Base

Two individuals with Muslim names have been arrested after a bomb scare at the Forth Worth military base in Texas, WFAA-TV reported February 13. The incident began when police began chasing a truck that then lost control on ice and ran off the road. A toy gun, and three pipe bombs were found inside the truck. Two people arrested in the plot were Yasinul Alan Ansari and Kimberly Suzanne Al-Homsi, who also goes by the name Asma Al-Homsi.

BREAKING NEWS: San Jacinto California Gang Task Force Targeted Today With Pipe Bomb
The Riverside County sheriff’s hazardous device team is examining the suspicious device that ABC 7 is describing as a pipe bomb. Police have not confirmed what the device is. Hemet police are investigating a possible third attempt to injure a gang task force officer, ABC 7 reported today.
According to news reports, an officer from the Hemet-San Jacinto Gang Task Force arrived in an unmarked car at a convenience store on Sanderson and Acacia Avenues at about 8 a.m. today, entered the store and after returning to his car, found a suspicious device next to the car. The Riverside County sheriff’s hazardous device team is examining the suspicious device that ABC 7 is describing as a pipe bomb. Police have not confirmed what the device is. While investigators have not confirmed today’s incident as a direct attempted attack on the gang task force, Hemet police Lt. Duane Wisehart said in the news reports it is obvious the gang task force is being targeted.
Man Held After Bomb Threat at Nellis Air Force Base

The main gate at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas was locked down on Friday afternoon after a man made a bomb threat, according to local reports.
Metro Police said the man had been taken into custody without incident and is now in the hands of federal officials, www.ktnv.com said. The main gate remains closed while the investigation continues. A spokesman at Nellis told Fox News the gate was closed because of what he described as a minor incident, although he did not have details.He called the situation “routine” and said there was “no ongoing threat to the public.” The base’s other gates remain open. Traffic around the area was diverted after the incident at around 3 p.m. Nellis is the location of the United States Air Force Warfare Center and is a major training location for both U.S. and foreign military aircrews.

Iceland’s Voters About to Tell Global Banksters to Shove It
A vote is set for Saturday in Iceland on a referendum that would require Iceland to pay funds to the U.K. and the Netherlands based on U.K. and Netherlands investors who lost money because of the collapse of an Icelandic bank.

The EU (based on some complicated rules) wants the residents of Iceland to bailout depositors in the United Kingdom who deposited money in an Icelandic bank that opened a subsidiary in the UK and then failed.The tab is £3.5 billion. The population of Iceland is only 320,000.
A Capacent Gallup survey conducted over the last weeks of February showed 74% of those who had decided to vote planned to vote “no”, reports WSJ.
The IMF and the EU are trying to muscle Iceland’s voters. The IMF has been holding up aid to Iceland. The EU would likely kill the potential of membership for Iceland in the EU. Those muscle moves have obviously not gone over well with Iceland’s voters.
An Icelandic negotiating team remained in London, according to WSJ,i n a last-ditch bid to seal a pact that could—at least temporarily—eliminate the need for a referendum on the older agreement. But Iceland’s finance minister, Steingrímur Sigfússon said it was “highly unlikely” the referendum would be called off.
