Pope Benedict XVI and the tarnished Catholic Church - It’s past time for questions to be answered,and stonewalling to end

The systematic coverup of many Catholic priests’ decades-long sexual abuse of thousands of children now appears to have reached all the way to the top and Pope Benedict XVI.

The New York Times on Thursday March 25, 2010 broke the story of how the pope, who was then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, and other top Vatican officials looked the other way or worse when informed of a particularly egregious case of an abusive priest in Wisconsin. American bishops directly contacted Ratzinger in 1996 about the Rev. Lawrence Murphy, who had molested as many as 200 deaf boys while working at a school in Milwaukee from 1950 to 1974.

As Wisconsin bishops prepared a secret canonical trial against him, Murphy wrote to Ratzinger, who led the Vatican office that decides how to handle cases of accused priests. VATICAN SUPPORT OF UN GUN CONTROL

May 23, 2010 By: Freedom Fighter Category: Uncategorized No Comments →

How can Vatican bureaucrats justify support for United Nations gun control initiatives while at the same time advocate the right to life? How can Vatican bureaucrats deny the right to the means necessary for defense of life against violent criminals, including dictatorial criminal governments, proliferating around the world today?

The Pope “offers his full support and cooperation” to “mechanisms for prevention, reduction, accountability and control (of guns).”

He has specifically endorsed:

* “The creation of systems of marking, tracing, and record-keeping;
* “The defining of criteria for the export of arms or for determining when there is effectively a surplus;
* “The regulation of brokering activity;
* “The inclusion of mechanisms for collecting and destroying arms in peace processes;
* “The establishment of adequate standards for the management and security of the stocks of these weapons;
* “The implementation of educational and awareness activities aimed at promoting a culture of peace and life, through, among other things, the involvement of different protagonists in the civil society.”
