The people were being ruled by a distant, centralized and concentrated tyrannical form of government. Unfair taxes were being levied upon them, and their lives and liberties were being intruded upon. Rather than making necessary changes in the way it governed, the government increased the presence and visibility of its uniformed enforcers so as to frighten the people into submission, and possibly deter them from an uprising..
Instead of being frightened, the people became angry. Some began to form Militias and develop plans of resistance. And began to take action and terrorize the tax collectors and the uniformed enforcers. Violence occurred in several places between these citizens and ” their government “. On one occasion 11 ” extremists ” as the government called them were fired upon with a total of five dying from the governments” excessive “force. In that particular instance, those “radical” citizens had been armed only with clubs and stones. In other words, they had been out-powered.
Eventually , “anti-government” sentiments grew stronger by the day among the people, who began storing up firearms and ammunition for the day they might have to go to war against “their government”. War finally broke out when the government in trying to ensure the “security” of its domain rather than correct itself , began a policy of disarming the people. A “militia” was formed by the people (being comprised of mostly farmers), and the first shots were fired on April 19, 1775.The government was overthrown by means of an eight year war, and through the determination and endurance of Patriots who in that day were labeled “radical”
Guess what? When I was in school I was taught that these “radicals” were our heroes, yet today our government calls them terrorists. I was taught that these people gave their blood so that we might live in a free country. I was also taught to hail them as being resisters of tyranny and defenders of liberty.
Those people were
our freedom loving American forefathers.

Now, the Obama administration has moved quietly to cede control of the Web from the United States to foreign powers.
Some background: The Internet came into being because of the genius work of Americans Dr.Robert E. Kahn and Dr. Vinton G. Cerf. These men, while working for the Department of Defense in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in the early 1970s, conceived, designed, and implemented the idea of “open-architecture networking.”
This breakthrough in connectivity and networking was the birth of the Internet.
These two gentlemen had the vision and the brainpower to create a worldwide computer Internet communications network that forever changed the world and how we communicate in it.
They discovered that providing a person with a unique identifier (TCP/IP)that was able to be recognized and interact through a network of servers would allow users to communicate with others.
The servers would use a series of giant receivers to recognize the identifier and connect networks to networks, passing on information from computer to computer in a seamless real-time exchange of information. This new process of communication became know as the “information super highway,” aka, the Internet.
Now for the bad news: In an effort to show the world how inclusive, sharing, cooperative, and international America can be, the Obama administration set off on a plan to surrender control and key management of the Internet by the U.S. Department of Commerce and its agents.

The man told investigators he planned to make her his “sex slave,” according to the arrest report uncovered by Local 6.According to jail records, Charles Henry Bennett, 57, works as a TSA employee at Orlando International Airport, and was booked into the Orange County Jail early Friday morning after a 15-year-old girl came forward claiming Bennett touched her inappropriately when she was 12, deputies said.

Gunmen jumped out of sport utility vehicles and fired at people in a house in the city across border from El Paso, Texas, in the early hours of Sunday, newspapers El Diario and Reforma said. Police and officials in Ciudad Juarez confirmed the shooting but declined to give more details. Ciudad Juarez is the bloodiest city in Mexico’s drug war as rival cartels fight over markets and control of smuggling routes into the United States. Gunmen have stormed at least seven drug rehabilitation clinics in the manufacturing city over the past two years in attacks that target rival dealers. Two strikes in September killed 28 people. Mexico is the key transit route for U.S.-bound cocaine from South America and a top producer of marijuana and heroin. A military crackdown on rival cartels in Mexico has fueled a surge in drug violence that has killed more than 17,000 people over the past three years.

The head of online security company McAfee told another Davos debate Friday that China, the United States, Russia, Israel and France are among 20 countries locked in a cyberspace arms race and gearing up for possible Internet hostilities.
Mundie and other experts have said there is a growing need to police the internet to clampdown on fraud, espionage and the spread of viruses.
“People don’t understand the scale of criminal activity on the internet. Whether criminal, individual or nation states, the community is growing more sophisticated,” the Microsoft executive said.
“We need a kind of World Health Organization for the Internet,” he said.
“When there is a pandemic, it organizes the quarantine of cases. We are not allowed to organize the systematic quarantine of machines that are compromised.”
He also called for a “driver’s license” for internet users.
“If you want to drive a car you have to have a license to say that you are capable of driving a car, the car has to pass a test to say it is fit to drive and you have to have insurance.”
Andre Kudelski, chairman of Kudelski Group, said that a new internet might have to be created forcing people to have two computers that cannot connect and pass on viruses. “One internet for secure operations and one internet for freedom.”

Defense Contractors Go Offshore to Avoid Payroll Taxes

Setting up foreign subsidiaries allows American defense contractors not only to utilize cheaper labor and more favorable regulations, but also avoid paying taxes that fund key government safety net programs. This conclusion was reached by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), which examined 29 defense contractors and their reliance on offshore companies for their work overseas from 2003 to 2008.
GAO investigators found that companies primarily used offshore subsidiaries to avoid contributing to Social Security and Medicare. This avoidance was perfectly legal, thanks to the way Congress crafted the Federal Insurance Contributions Act. Since then, lawmakers passed new legislation in 2008, the Heroes Earnings Assistance and Relief Tax Act, which sought to close this loophole.
Countries and regions with reputations as tax havens that were most often used by defense contractors to set up subsidiaries included Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands. The biggest offender studied was Kellogg Brand and Root (KBR), which was registered in the Cayman Islands.

Explosive Device Set Off On Virginia Train Tracks Today - Feds Say
Federal officials say they are investigating an explosive device that was set off on train tracks near a college campus in Harrisonburg, Va.
Rich Marianos, a spokesman for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, said local residents reported hearing a boom about 6:30 a.m. Thursday. He said local police have investigated and determined there was an explosive device on train tracks near the campus of James Madison University at Chesapeake Street and Cantrell Avenue.
He said there were no injuries and terrorism is not suspected.
He said ATF and the Harrisonburg police department have launched a criminal investigation. He said ATF has sent seven people to the scene, including two explosives experts.

Residents reported hearing a boom about 6:30 a.m.

Michael Mancini, a father of two, said he put the handbrake on before wiping his nose but was asked to pull over by officers who were standing nearby.
He was told he was not in control of his vehicle and was handed a £60 fixed penalty and three points on his license.
The 39-year-old, who runs a furniture restoration business in Ayr, said: ”The traffic was nose to tail in the high street and the traffic stopped and I thought that was quite a good time. I stopped the van and put the handbrake on. I saw four police officers nearby.
”The traffic moved on and I was waved across by an officer.”He said I was not in control of the vehicle.”Mr Mancini went on: ”I was absolutely stunned.”I said to the officer ‘You’re joking, you’re having a laugh’.

A planned protest turned ugly yesterday when liberty activists turned on each other at an event held on the steps of the Austin Police Department HQ regarding the APD and BATFE’s decision to shut down the long running and legally-held Texas Gun Show on January16th and 17th.
Talk show host and filmmaker Alex Jones was invited yet refused to speak at yesterday’s protest, which was sponsored by Texans for Accountable Government, Truth Seekers, and the Ladies of Liberty Alliance. Instead, Jones co-opted the event by using his bullhorn to drown out the event’s scheduled speakers.
In a YouTube video chronicling the takeover of the event by Jones and the ensuing tumult, Catherine Bleish, Executive Director of the Liberty Restoration Project confronted Jones regarding his comment that they were “new activists and they didn’t know what they were doing,” to which Jones replied; “Well, I said that to you, yes.”
An off-camera and unnamed activist then asked for the reason why Jones didn’t work with the event’s organizers, to which Jones replied, “Well, I’m sorry; I brought 80% of the people here.” While much of the audio is unintelligible due to ambient sound, Bleish informs Jones “Many people worked really hard on this event,” to which Jones replied again, “You don’t know what you’re doing.” Jones also says during the exchange, “You’ve got a hard-on for me” and “I’ll be here in 20 years.”

“The dismissal was too severe a measure,” the district court in Leeuwarden, in the north of the Netherlands, said in a written judgment.“It is just a slice of cheese.”
A written warning would have been a more appropriate punishment, said the court, which ordered the fast-food chain to pay the worker the salary for the remaining five months of her contract - a total of 4,265.47 euros (£3,660).
The company was also ordered to pay court costs.
The worker was fired at a McDonald’s branch in the northern town of Lemmer in March last year for giving a colleague on a break a more expensive cheese burger instead of the hamburger she had paid for.
McDonald’s claimed she had broken the rules, which prohibit any free gifts to family, friends or colleagues.
The decision came days after the fast-food chain reported an increase in net profits by almost 25 per cent in the last quarter of 2009.

An investigation of FBI actions revealed that the agency bypassed requirements of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act and ignored its own rules to obtain the phone records of at least 3,500 numbers.

The FBI also developed cozy relationships with key telecommunications employees, treating them as “team” members and giving them FBI email accounts, all in an effort to gain records as quickly as possible. One agency official likened the ease with which the FBI gained phone records to “having an ATM in your living room.”
The inspector general’s report also revealed that the FBI sought to obtain toll phone call information from three journalists—Washington Post reporter Ellen Nakashima and New York Times reporters Jane Perlez and Raymond Bonner—to find out the source of a leak.

January 23, 2010, Oklahoma City, OK - While in Oklahoma City to film probably the most important footage of his career, independent filmmaker William Lewis’ hotel room was ransacked, the thieves getting away with everything…but his camera, cell phone and the clothes on his back.
After checking into his room, Lewis, who normally does not travel alone, went out to grab a bite to eat and scout the location for his exclusive interview with Oklahoma Representative Charles Key. Upon his return, Lewis found the door to his room ajar. Pushing the door open, he found that the only thing the thieves did not get was his well-hidden camera.
Lewis said, “I barely had time to find the (interview) location and grab some pizza.” It took him only seconds to notice that the burglars made off with his duffel bag, lighting equipment, backpack, which included other small equipment and information, and his laptop. Also stolen was the script and early version of the new film, Don’t Tread On Me, and some extra footage.
Gary Franchi, producer and co-writer of the film, commented on the incident, “It is unknown whether or not this was a random or targeted act against the films production but, given the current political climate in America, one tends to wonder.”
The policeman on the scene, Officer Bartel, was very helpful as he went door to door looking for and asking if anyone had seen anything suspicious. The hotel manager was reluctant to allow Lewis to film the rest of the incident, threatening to call the police if Lewis did not hand over the film, but was cooperative in the end, even supportive. “Good thing I keep multiple copies of this stuff and backup everything every few days!” Lewis exclaimed.
Franchi concluded, “Don’t Tread On Me is still on schedule for a spring release and nothing is going to stop it.”

Granted, it can be morbidly entertaining to watch these celebrities travel down their blazing paths of self-destruction, but can we not find better people for our children to look up to? Or ourselves, for that matter?
I remember when I was growing up, two of my heroes were Cindi Lauper and Madonna. All that ever got me was a gravity-defying hairdo and some really scary wardrobe choices. For all of you not suffering from arthritis…I’m referring to pop idols of the 1980’s.
A “Patriot” Hero Goes Down
The arrest of an ex-Marine last week has sparked a low-grade civil war within the “patriot” movement, with militia members rallying behind the accused while more mainstream groups struggle to distance themselves.
Dyer was already a notorious figure. As an active-duty sergeant in the Marine Corps, he posted incendiary videos on YouTube under the handle July4Patriot. Clad in a skull mask, he warned of grave threats to the republic and called for armed resistance against the American government. In one clip, referring to an April 2009 Department of Homeland Security report (pdf) on domestic extremism, Dyer exclaimed, “With DHS blatantly calling patriots, veterans, and constitutionalists a threat, all that I have to say is you’’re damn right we’re a threat. We’re a threat to anyone that endangers our rights and the Constitution of this republic.” He invited viewers to join him at his makeshift training area—”I’m sure the DHS will call it a terrorist training camp.”
Dyer left the Marines last year after being brought up on charges of uttering “disloyal” statements—they were later dismissed, according to reports—and continued with his video dispatches, some of which have been removed since his arrest. His postings have also vanished from the website of Oath Keepers, a fast-growing patriot group with which he was closely associated. Its founder, Stewart Rhodes, once reposted Dyer’s clips on the group’s website and praised him in speeches, but now says Dyer isn’t a member because he never officially signed up and paid dues. That has earned him the scorn of far-right activists—a blogger for American Resistance Radio called Rhodes “beyond cowardly,” while referring to Dyer as the “1st POW of the 2nd American Revolution” and linking to a support fund for the former Marine. So far, 11 donors have raised a total of $866.00.
Numerous militia advocates, some of whom shaved their heads in solidarity with their hairless hero, have rallied behind Dyer on the American Resistance Movement forum. “He’s our brother and he needs our help!” one wrote. “Big brother is very capable of causing conflict and confusion within our cause.” “This is doubtless a set up,” added another poster. “This is a guy I’d want on my team…a voice that can motivate and change minds. That makes him a threat to the powers that be.”
On the Oath Keepers site, a Marine from Arizona worried that the charges against Dyer could be the start of a false campaign to arrest and detain American patriots. But if the allegations are true, he wrote, “may he rot in hell.”

Police charged Jordan Miles, 18, with assault and resisting arrest Jan. 11 because, they said, he fought with the officers who thought a “heavy object” in his coat was a gun. It turned out to be a bottle of Mountain Dew.
Miles said he resisted because he thought the men were trying to abduct him and didn’t identify themselves as police.(They were in plainclothes). Miles’ family and attorney said he was hit with a stun gun and hospitalized after the violent Homewood struggle during which a chunk of his hair was yanked out and a tree branch went through his gums.”I was accused for something I never had anything to do with,” said Miles, an honor student at CAPA. “I was completely innocent. They couldn’t find anything.”Police took Miles to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. The student said he had to go back after he was released from custody.”I want my son’s life restored, that’s all,” said Miles’ mother, Terez Miles. “I just want his life to go back to the way that it was before.”City officials are conducting a full investigation, spokeswoman Diane Richard told Channel 11 News.Reportedly the officers identified themselves as police. According to officials, the officers have been moved from plain clothes detail to uniformed duty.
