UPDATE: on the Ohio Legislature’s activities since our Wednesday Sledgehammer Alert. Thankfully, that Sledgehammer alerted and activated people across the country to the very real and imminent threat that a Constitutional Convention might soon be called by Congress. You had a definite impact on the Ohio House, and gave us at least a temporary victory. But we’re not finished, as you will see.

First and foremost: Thank you for a job well done! (more…)

Bill of Rights Day - December 15th

December 12, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech, general news No Comments →

Ideas for Observing Bill of Rights Day:

The Bill of Rights was meant to ensure basic rights during times of war and times of peace, regardless of who is in power. In order to ensure its future, we must keep using the First Amendment and speaking out when our rights and the rights of non-citizens are threatened.

In 1941, 150 years after the first 10 amendments were ratified, President Franklin Roosevelt declared December 15 “Bill of Rights Day.” Now many communities around the country observe the day. BORDC invites you to celebrate and exercise the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. Some ideas for celebrating the day include:

  • New! Download the Bill of Rights (11 x 17inches), take it to a copy shop, print it off, roll it into a scroll, tie a ribbon around it, and hand out to holiday shoppers, as you remind them of the Bill of Rights protections that are currently being denied all of us. Scroll can also be downloaded as a Word Document. You can also print a copy on legal-sized paper (8 1/2 x 14 inches) PDF legal-size or on letter-sized paper * 8 1/2 x 11 inches) PDF letter-size.
  • Download BORDC’s Bill of Rights bookmarks in English or Spanish. Print 6 bookmarks on an 8.5″ x 11″ sheet of cardstock for an inexpensive, educational handout to distribute to your local schools and libraries.
  • Entertain holiday shoppers with street theater, or include a short play or video as part of a local civil liberties forum. Visit our recommended resources page for suggestions and links.
  • Read the Bill of Rights in front of city hall or other public place. Invite local elected officials to participate.
  • Encourage your local government to officially proclaim December 15 Bill of Rights Day.
  • Schedule a showing of FBI Unbound: How National Security Letters Violate Our Privacy at a house party, public forum, or on public access television. in your community to raise public awareness of this threat to our Bill of Rights protections.

Pass a Bill of Rights Proclamation in your community. Ask your City Council, County Board of Commissioners or other local government to declare December 15 Bill of Rights Day in your community. See Proclamations and Resolutions section for sample resolutions, ongoing local efforts, and a map of where Bill of Rights Proclamations have been passed.

Organize a reading of the Bill of Rights in your community: invite school classes, entire schools and school districts, city councilors, and others to take part in reasserting this founding document in our public lives.

Distribute these Bill of Rights Day Public Service Announcements to your local radio station. You can add your own local information, or use these already recorded announcements

Pass out copies of the Bill of Rights and Constitution See Resources section for flyers, bookmarks, copies of the Bill of Rights and Constitution, films and videos.

Panel Discussions/Public Forums: Ask local experts on the Constitution to participate in discussion about current threats facing the Constitution and/or showing films. See Resources section

Letter to the editor campaign: Use the tips from this BORDC workshop on creating Circles of Scribes — community letter writing groups — to get a buzz going about Bill of Rights Day in your community.

Open Microphone at a local gathering spot to give community members an opportunity to speak their minds, read from the Constitution, or use poetry to express their feelings about our loss of liberties.

Engage with local media: See Media Resources page for Public Service Announcement links, workshop tips, and press release contacts.

Victory for Freedom of Speech at Binghamton University Department of Social Work

November 17, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech No Comments →

BINGHAMTON, N.Y., November 17, 2008

Binghamton University (formerly SUNY–Binghamton) has abandoned its attempt to suspend or expel a student who put up posters challenging the Department of Social Work. The department had ordered that social work master’s student Andre Massena leave the program for one year with no guarantee of return, required him to apologize, and demanded that he publicly disavow his own views after his pseudonymous posters challenged the department for having hired the executive director of the Binghamton Housing Authority (BHA)—an agency Massena thought was responsible for social injustice. When Massena appealed, the department’s chair added entirely new allegations and recommended his expulsion. The department dropped the charges late Friday, one day after the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) took the case public.

Death of America- Prepare for the USSA (UNITED SOCIALIST STATES of AMERICA)

November 07, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech, general news No Comments →

f history has taught us nothing else through the centuries it should have taught us that the best forecasters of the future are the events which transpired in the past. Sometimes the past does not have to be that far removed from the present to give us an accurate glimpse of the future. Sometimes what happened yesterday, or last year will give us an inkling what’s going to happen tomorrow, next week or next year. And, sometimes we have to look back to the birth of our nation to more clearly see its demise. In 1797 Federalist John Adams, America’s second president, pushed his super-majority Federalist Congress to enact a series of very repressive and very unconstitutional laws. Two of the laws targeted America’s ally in the Revoluttionary War. The first law was The Aliens and Sedition Act which made it a crime for resident aliens to ridicule the President. When the law was debated, its proponents, advocates of a stronger central government that did not answer to the States, declared the law was specifically and singularly crafted to protect the Executive and Legislative Branch from alien meddlers in American politics.

November 5, 2008 (Columbia County, GA) - Freedom Fighter Radio Host , Jim Stach, was stopped and arrested on the evening of November 4, 2008 as he was driving by a polling place in Columbia County, GA. Stach had gone to vote in his own precinct wearing a Fire Congress t-shirt, carrying an upside down flag and wearing an empty gun holster, in a silent form of protest. He was told he could not wear the shirt into the polling place, as it violated campaigning laws. Stach returned wearing a different shirt and was allowed to vote.

Stach, whose radio show deals with American freedoms and liberties and dispensing information that is not covered by the mainstream news networks, is very knowledgeable about the Constitution and carries an upside down flag because he feels our country is in distress. He sees this as peaceful and gives people the opportunity to approach him and ask questions without him disturbing them.

As the silent protest went well and he was allowed to vote at his precinct, Stach went driving around to other areas. A lady who was offended that he would be flying his flag Union down approached him, and he had the opportunity to engage in a peaceful conversation about his thoughts on the direction of the country. As Stach left the area, he was pulled over and was questioned about the incident. Up to approximately 6 police cars came to the scene and 12 officers, after Stach was stopped. Stach was cooperative as they questioned him and they took the opportunity to search his car. Upon speaking with the accusing lady, Stach was arrested for causing a disturbance.

Stach has been released and his court date is January 21, 2009. Anyone who feels they can be of help in the matter or is interested in speaking with him is encouraged to call 706-394-8019.

Top Ten Gun Safety Tips’ Censored at Lone Star College in Texas; Student Group Threatened by Administration

November 02, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: civil rights, free speech No Comments →

After distributing a jocular flyer listing “Top Ten Gun Safety Tips” at the school’s “club rush,” a student group was threatened with probation and derecognition at Lone Star College–Tomball, a public college near Houston. After college officials banned the Young Conservatives of Texas from distributing the flyer, the school’s general counsel invoked the specter of the Virginia Tech shootings, suggesting that even a “mention of firearms and weapons” is inherently a “material interference” with the school’s operations. The case has received media attention from the Houston Press and the Volokh Conspiracy.

With Election Weeks Away, Political Speech Under Attack on America’s Campuses

October 15, 2008

FIRE Press Release

PHILADELPHIA, October 15, 2008

With the presidential race between John McCain and Barack Obama the focus of national attention, political speech on our nation’s campuses has come under sharp attack. In recent weeks, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) has investigated open and blatant attacks on political expression at colleges and universities across the country, from a previously unreported case at Oklahoma, to better-known cases at Illinois and Texas, to cases at smaller schools across the country. This alarming trend towards silencing political expression has prompted FIRE to release a Policy Statement on Political Activity on Campus today.

At the University of Oklahoma, students and faculty were notified last month that “the forwarding of political humor/commentary” using their university e-mail accounts was prohibited. In response to a letter from FIRE, the university has modified its stance, stating that the prohibition is only applicable “to the extent discussions are attributable to the University as endorsing or opposing a political candidate.” However, the university has not communicated this change to the community at large, leaving many under the impression that such private e-mail forwards are forbidden. At the University of Illinois, the university Ethics Office issued a newsletter warning faculty against engaging in political expression on campus, including attending political rallies, wearing buttons, and even placing bumper stickers on cars. After widespread criticism and a letter from FIRE, President B. Joseph White issued a clarification, assuring faculty members that the university would allow them to engage in such expression.

“Political expression is exactly the speech the First Amendment was designed to protect. Our nation’s colleges and universities do their students and faculty a grave disservice when they stifle the ability to engage the crucial issues of the day,” said FIRE President Greg Lukianoff. “While colleges and universities may not institutionally endorse candidates, they have a societal duty to foster and encourage debate and discussion about those issues most important to our nation. Any blanket ban on ‘political speech’ betrays one of the academy’s most important functions.”

In addition to the situations at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Illinois, FIRE has monitored bans on political expression at several other institutions in the past few weeks. At the University of Texas at Austin (UT), two students were threatened with disciplinary action for refusing to remove political signs placed in their dormitory window. In the face of nationwide criticism, UT President William Powers Jr. waived that prohibition, pending a policy review. Iowa Western Community College has banned individual students from distributing campaign handbills and has banned postings of campaign materials while other postings are allowed. FIRE has also received reports of censorship at Fresno Pacific University, Louisiana State University, and Cuyamaca College.

In response to the numerous instances of censorship of political expression on campuses nationwide, FIRE today releases its 2008 Policy Statement on Political Activity on Campus. The policy statement details the freedom of political expression that students, student groups, faculty, and staff at public and private universities should expect at their institutions. The statement also reminds university administrators of their legal and moral obligations to ensure the protection of the political expression of students and faculty.

“FIRE’s Policy Statement on Political Activity on Campus is our attempt to end the widespread confusion about the fundamental right to political expression we’re witnessing at schools across the nation,” William Creeley, FIRE’s Director of Legal and Public Advocacy, said. “Either out of ignorance or out of sheer disregard for the rights of students and faculty, university administrators are too often implementing absurd bans on political speech this election season. FIRE’s Policy Statement is designed to inform members of the university community about their right to join in the national political discussion in the final weeks before the election.”

FIRE is a nonprofit educational foundation that unites civil rights and civil liberties leaders, scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals from across the political and ideological spectrum on behalf of individual rights, due process, freedom of expression, academic freedom, and rights of conscience at our nation’s colleges and universities. FIRE’s efforts to preserve liberty on campuses across America can be viewed at thefire.org.

Nearly Half of Americans Think President Can Suspend Constitution

July 12, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: civil rights, free speech, liberty No Comments →

By Kurt Nimmo | InfoWars.com | Jul. 9, 2008

Ah, yes. Public eduction has performed an essential wonder, that is a wonder in the minds of our globalist rulers: Nearly half (49%) of Americans think the president has the authority to suspend the Constitution, according to Rick Shenkman’s new book, “Just How Stupid Are We?: Facing the Truth About the American Voter.”

Other astounding and disturbing facts:

– Only 2 in 5 voters can name the three branches of the federal government.

– Only 1 in 7 can find Iraq on a map.

– Only 1 in 5 know that there are 100 federal senators.

I can forgive them for not knowing the number of senators, but not knowing the three branches of government?

If true, we are indeed screwed. Because the populace is woefully ignorant of the very foundation of our constitutional republic — a trias politica, the three branches of government, intended to prevent one branch from reigning supreme and ushering in tyranny, a situation now manifest as Bush, the neocon puppet, essentially declares the executive a dictatorship. Not only are they unaware of the system of checks and balances, they think — that is, when they bother to think — that Bush has the right to declare himself dictator.

No doubt the American people will get what they deserve — and they will get tyranny, they will become slaves, members of a new servile feudal class.

Evidence that Denver Cops Lied about handing out DVDs being illegal

Hey fellow friends

This is Jonathan from We Are Change Colorado and I have launched a massive campaign to get back on youtube with full force. I have setup multiple accounts to which I will have mirrors of the We Are Change videos. (Mysteriously our previous youtube account was shut down without any reason given or notice. Conspiracy? Hmmmmmm……)

I have found in the We Are Change Colorado Archives a video of a street action when Sander Hicks was with us where the police were called on us and a cop showed up, all of this I have caught on video tape, and the police officer told us that handing out DVD’s for free was considered literature and was protected by the 1st amendment. THIS WAS ON THE 16th street mall!!!
Rob just got arrested for doing this and I have video that will show that the cops were breaking the laws they knew were in place 3 months prior.

Here is the video link for all to see:

Sunday’s Protest Against Bush turns violent with Police Brutality

June 16, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech No Comments →

Police wielding batons clashed with protesters last night when a demonstration against George Bush’s farewell visit to Britain turned violent a few hundred meters from where the US President [sic] was dining with Gordon Brown. Within the shadow of the Houses of Parliament, officers dressed in riot gear skirmished with several hundred demonstrators who had been attending a rally organized by the Stop the War Coalition… Police drew batons and truncheons in an attempt to push back a crowd which at 6.20pm moved from the rally on Parliament Square to try to gain entry to Whitehall. A squad of riot officers and horses were later sent to reinforce the barricade as protesters chanting “George Bush, terrorist” and “Bush go home” repeatedly tried to break through the reinforced crowd barriers and concrete blocks.

Microsoft Discloses Government Backdoor on Windows Operating Systems

Microsoft Discloses Government Backdoor on Windows Operating Systems

Microsoft may have inadvertently disclosed a potential Microsoft backdoor for law enforcement earlier this week. To explain this all, here is the layman term of a backdoor from Wikipedia:

A backdoor in a computer system (or cryptosystem or algorithm) is a method of bypassing normal authentication, securing remote access to a computer, obtaining access to plaintext, and so on, while attempting to remain undetected. The backdoor may take the form of an installed program (e.g., Back Orifice), or could be a modification to an existing program or hardware device.

Border security advocates ATTACKED at Lindsey Graham event

June 10, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: POLICE OUT OF CONTROL, border security, civil rights, free speech, police abuse, police abuse/harassment No Comments →

By: D. H. Williams @ 7:24 PM - EST

On the afternoon of June 7th long time activist Jim Stachowiak and friends were speaking out against the open border, pro – amnesty policies of public servant Senator Lindsey Graham during a campaign stop in Columbia, South Carolina.

Stachowiak’s small group was there to bring awareness to the crisis of illegal immigration and the intentional dismantling of U.S. sovereignty. Two issues you would expect a self-proclaimed pro family values conservative Republican and his supporters to defend. However on this day at the Sterling Garden Center these outspoken proponents of Constitutional rights would experience a contradiction in conservative values from Graham’s pro – amnesty supporters, as many attendees of the event took the time to hurl curse words popular with Vice President Dick Cheney toward the group as they walked into the campaign event.

One Graham supporter was so enraged witness’s claim she aimed her silver G35 Infinity at Stachowiak and his group. Fortunately Stachowiak was able to get his friend seen in the video out of the path of the vehicle but he was slightly grazed as the car passed. The vehicle bearing the plate “Airport Commission 3” parked nearby, the occupants an older man and women preceded into the Graham campaign event, when the victims asked the driver about her reckless behavior the elderly man with her paused only to say, “We don’t know what you are talking about.”

Concerned about safety, Stachowiak approached an officer with the Department of Homeland Security parked less than 100 feet away to request assistance. The officer claimed not to have seen the incident and would not take a report or investigate. Unable to get any help from the apathetic DHS officer Stachowiak called 911 only to wait one hour for two City of Columbia police officers to arrive who also showed little interest in investigating the minor hit and run.

Stachowiak is in the process of filing a report with the City of Columbia office of Internal Affairs concerning the day’s events. When asked about the dangers of speaking out at public events,

Stachowiak said, “One must be willing to stand up and take risk to protect the rights earned by those who made great sacrifice for our freedoms.”

Bush pushes biometrics for national security

Agencies are required by the directive to make available for sharing with other agencies… all biometric and associated biographical information for individuals about whom authorities have an “articulable and reasonable suspicion that they pose a threat to national security.” 06 Jun 2008 The Bush administration has required agencies to increase their capability to share among themselves biometric information on people believed to pose a threat to national security.

A presidential directive issued June 5, 2008 requires the increased compatibility of methods agencies use to collect, store and share fingerprints, face and iris recognition data and behavioral characteristics to identify and screen “known and suspected terrorists.” The directive also applies to other categories of individuals the directive said would be identified soon who may also pose a threat to national security.

Are YOU One of the 8 Million Targeted for Roundup?

May 21, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech, government abuse, government corruption No Comments →

Click to The United American Freedom Foundation

Senior government officials have leaked detailed information about a database of 8 million Americans targeted for detention in case of a declared national emergency.

Called “Main Core,” the database’s origins date back to the 1980s when the Reagan administration began its “Continuity in Government” planning. The Bush administration stepped up the effort to the point that even John Ashcroft and his deputy, James Comey objected on constitional grounds, leading to the dramatic confrontation between Ashcroft and Comey on on side and Alberto Gonzales (then Bush’s lawyer) and Andrew Card on the other as Ashcroft lay critically ill in an intensive care unit.
According to a senior government official who served with high-level security clearances in five administrations, “There exists a database of Americans, who, often for the slightest and most trivial reason, are considered unfriendly, and who, in a time of panic, might be incarcerated. The database can identify and locate perceived ‘enemies of the state’ almost instantaneously.” He and other sources tell Radar that the database is sometimes referred to by the code name Main Core. One knowledgeable source claims that 8 million Americans are now listed in Main Core as potentially suspect. In the event of a national emergency, these people could be subject to everything from heightened surveillance and tracking to direct questioning and possibly even detention.

How do you get on the list? Ketcham reports that the software used makes predictive judgments of targets’ behavior and tracks their circle of associations with “social network analysis” and artificial intelligence modeling tools.” The data that serves as the basis of these predictions includes financial information collected from banks, credit card companies and credit agencies, the fruits of the government’s illegal wiretapping and email surveillance, data gathered from private sources like ISPs and cell phone companies. A partial list of the data:

The following information seems to be fair game for collection without a warrant: the e-mail addresses you send to and receive from, and the subject lines of those messages; the phone numbers you dial, the numbers that dial in to your line, and the durations of the calls; the Internet sites you visit and the keywords in your Web searches; the destinations of the airline tickets you buy; the amounts and locations of your ATM withdrawals; and the goods and services you purchase on credit cards. All of this information is archived on government supercomputers and, according to sources, also fed into the Main Core database.

Smaller, targeted “enemies lists” are included: no-fly list (now nearing 500,000), border scrutiny list (750,000 nearly a year ago) and people on a list created by a Pentagon project targeting antiwar and environmental groups. These much smaller lists grow to 8 million because of the “social networking” factor. If you’ve emailed or called someone on those lists, you get added to the master list.

Ketcham has reviewed previous lists created by FEMA (under whose authority all this take place) and the FBI, and finds that diversity rules. Typically, one finds “dissidents and activists of various stripes, political and tax protesters, lawyers and professors, publishers and journalists, gun owners, illegal aliens, foreign nationals, and a great many other harmless, average people.”

Enemies lists and mass roundups are nothing new in American history. Lincoln employed them during the Civil War. FDR put the Japanese in detention camps. J. Edgar Hoover had his lists.

But the Main Core programs roots trace back to Reagan, and more specifically, to Iran-Contra figure, Oliver North. North was involved in the creation of REX-84, a martial law plan that would have suspended the constitution, rounded up 400,000 illegal aliens and unknown numbers of American citizens and placed them in detention camps set up at military bases. When Texas Congressman Jack Brooks attempted to question North about the plans at the Iran-Contra hearings, even his fellow Congressmen shut him off.

Rex-84 tools included PROMIS, a database program that North used to track dissidents’ movements in the 80s. The program was never halted. Instead, it went into turboboost after 9/11.

These new leaks revealed by Ketcham are an opportunity to push for a Congressional investigation of marital law plans. Peter DeFazio and Bernie Thompson have requested detailed information about “Continuity of Government” plans, but, incredibly, have been rebuffed by DHS and the Bush administration.

Congress has itself been complicit, enacting a number of laws since 9/11 that make such data gathering, targeting and detention easier. The 2002 NORTHCOM funding bill included a provision allowing military administration in the U. S. in times of declared emergency. The 2006 Military Commissions Act suspended habeas corpus for declared enemy combatants, even American citizens. And the 2006 Warner Defense Act allows deployment of military forces even in the case of natural emergencies. John Yoo claimed in a 2002 memo that the 4th Amendment would have no application to military forces deployed on U. S. soil. Current AG Mukasey refused to disavow Yoo’s memo when he testified before Congress last month.

This is the current state of things:

If Bush or any other President declares a state of emergency because of a terrorist attack, assassination, natural disaster or large scale protests, millions of Americans will be targeted. It may be a letter in the mail or a phone call requiring them to come to a local government office to register and answer questions. It may be a knock on the door from local or federal law enforcement officials wanting to have a little chat. Or it may be a squad of Marines busting down the door, shooting first and asking questions later.

Are you one of the 8 million?

UPDATE:

For our skeptics who look down their noses at the source, here’s another report today about the UK’s plan to amass a similar database. This from the London Times (yes, I know who owns it):

A massive government database holding details of every phone call, e-mail and time spent on the internet by the public is being planned as part of the fight against crime and terrorism. Internet service providers (ISPs) and telecoms companies would hand over the records to the Home Office under plans put forward by officials.

The information would be held for at least 12 months and the police and security services would be able to access it if given permission from the courts.

The proposal will raise further alarm about a “Big Brother” society, as it follows plans for vast databases for the ID cards scheme and NHS patients. There will also be concern about the ability of the Government to manage a system holding billions of records. About 57 billion text messages were sent in Britain last year, while an estimated 3 billion e-mails are sent every day.

The Darker Side
Of HR 1955
By Ted Twietmeyer

Much has been said about this Bill. It doesn’t lay the foundation not for a new temporary McCarthy-type era of a form of witch-hunting, but rather an era of permanent silence of all dissident thoughts and actions. Like all laws, sooner or later the Constitutional validity of this law (if it makes it into law which appears likely) will be tried in a courtroom.

But before that day comes when someone comes along with deep pockets to do this, there will be countless others who won’t be able to challenge it. OJ Simpson proved that despite the most damning evidence, with deep enough pockets you can buy your way out of a capital crime.

And with even deeper pockets to pay the high per-minute cost of a lawyer authorized to argue in front of the Supreme Court, anyone can challenge a new law. But before any law can be argued in front of the US Supreme Court, it must pass through all the lower courts first which also costs some serious money. It will take many years to make it through that due process. And in that time, countless numbers of people without deep pockets will be punished for breaking the law.

More than four years ago, everyone seemed to rejoice when we had a Republican-controlled Congress. At least that’s how the media portrayed the “victory” on Capitol Hill. I was in the car driving to work at the time I heard the news of the Democratic victory, and damn near hit a bus broad-side because I was laughing so hard.

That victory turned out to be a false hope as more civil rights than ever before were taken away or threatened. Under the “new freedom” no civil rights are guaranteed to anyone, and they were more likely to be before 2001. The only hope people had left was for the usually-liberally minded democrats to help protect the people. In other words, tell the fox he’s been re-hired to guard to henhouse.

Finally the democrats started to take control of Capitol hill. Was that a good thing? I’ll leave you to be the judge of that. First, let’s look at the list of just who sponsored HR 1955, according to Uncle’s website:

Rep. Jane Harman [D-CA]
Cosponsors of HR 1955

Rep. Christopher Carney [D-PA]
Del. Donna Christensen [D-VI]
Rep. Yvette Clarke [D-NY]
Rep. Charles Dent [R-PA]
Rep. Norman Dicks [D-WA]
Rep. Al Green [D-TX]
Rep. James Langevin [D-RI]
Rep. Zoe Lofgren [D-CA]
Rep. Nita Lowey [D-NY]
Rep. Daniel Lungren [R-CA]
Rep. Ed Perlmutter [D-CO]
Rep. Ted Poe [R-TX]
Rep. Dave Reichert [R-WA]
Rep. Bennie Thompson [D-MS]

If we tally up who’s in what party here, we can see from the government’s website [1] that 11 Democrats and just 3 Republicans sponsored HR 1955. That’s a ratio of almost 4:1! No one seems to be talking about this aspect of the Bill. Yet is does speak volumes how this handful of mostly democrats accomplished a staggering landslide vote as described here:

Oct 23, 2007: This bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote. The vote was held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill, needing a two-thirds majority. The totals were 404 Ayes, 6 Nays, 22 Present/Not Voting. [1]

The statement above “The vote was held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill” speaks volumes about the railroad job performed to pass this one. Cut debate short? How about no real debate at all! Another one of those “all decided beforehand behind closed doors” tricks. This is a clearly a violation of due process. We must remember it’s OK for Capitol Hill to break the law - but not you and me. “Who said life was fair?” we heard growing up. No, it’s more like “Who said the law applies to everyone?”

This Bill has far-reaching implications, perhaps even more so than the infamous Patriot Act. It’s important to remember that ALL “Acts” are labeled for WHAT or WHO they are targeted at. The Riot Act was against people rioting, RICO Act was against racketeering and crime, and the Patriot Act was clearly written to nail patriots. Now we have HR 1955 with the official title of Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007.

THIS BILL CHARGES THE FOX WITH GUARDING THE HENHOUSE

As with any Bill it’s all in the details. So I’ve presented a few here a few of them to show the threat to free speech it represents, with almost no real safeguards. First, let’s look at the supposed safeguards in the Bill:

SEC. 899F PROTECTING CIVIL RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES WHILE PREVENTING IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE AND HOMEGROWN TERRORISM.

(a) In General- The Department of Homeland Security’s efforts to prevent ideologically based violence and homegrown terrorism as described herein shall not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, or civil liberties of United States citizens or lawful permanent residents.

(b) Commitment to Racial Neutrality- The Secretary shall ensure that the activities and operations of the entities created by this subtitle are in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s commitment to racial neutrality.

(c) Auditing Mechanism- The Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Officer of the Department of Homeland Security shall develop and implement an auditing mechanism to ensure that compliance with this subtitle does not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, or civil liberties of any racial, ethnic, or religious group, and shall include the results of audits under such mechanism in its annual report to Congress required under section 705.’

Looking at each of these three “protections” causes alarm bells sound inside anyone’s head unless they are dead.

In section (a) we see the fox that guards the henhouse being charged with insuring the fox won’t violate anyone’s civil rights. We can always trust the fox to guard the fox?

In section (b) we are given the promise of racial neutrality. Perhaps this only applies to illegal aliens coming across the Mexican border in droves, every day of the week. They must be exempt of course.

In section (c) we see there will be an auditing mechanism. Again, the fox is charged with protecting the chickens (you and me) from harm.

In all fairness, I must acknowledge that SOMETHING must be done. After all, since we were given that “new freedom” by the self-appointed Decider some 6 years ago, nothing has been the same. He told the media in a December 2000 press conference when asked how hard it would be as president which I quote verbatim here: “This job would be a heck of a lot easier, if this were a dictatorship… [chuckling] just so long as I’m the dictator.” Apparently he was more serious than anyone thought.

Yes, something must be done. We’ve had so many “home-grown terrorist attacks” since 2001 (I’ll spare you that dog-eared-date for the moment) that we’ve all lost count. It’s been just terrible. Restaurants blowing up, pungi-stick traps dug in ChinaMart parking lots during the night, water supplies poisoned and big box stores being stormed every day by radical right-wing extremists and television and radio stations being taken over by terrorists every week. Every day something more terrible happens in the news. And the worst attack of all? America’s freedom attacked loud-mouth-threatening Bill-O of FIX NEWS. (Most likely one day someone will shut up Bill-O permanently, perhaps with a lawsuit.) What - you didn’t see or hear any of this happen? But we still need HR 1955.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE BILL

We’ll look at a few of the wonderful benefits this blindly-voted-on-Bill gives to the American people. Benefits for which all should be on bended knee bowing in gratitude and be grateful for. Uncle only wants the best for us. Today, ask not what you can do for your country - but what your country can do TO you.

We should remember all this and show our gratitude to Uncle for the misery, unemployment, jumping gas prices and other wonderful blessings. Now I’ll show my gratitude and share with you more of the glories of HR 1955. According to Sec. 2 of the Bill, this is to be amended to Title VIII of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, 6 USC 361.

Strangely enough, this government website has a blue link to a website about 6 USC 361. Although it comes up as “Page not Found” the link is to a Cornell law website at

Why would the government include a link to a Cornell website? Perhaps they are the REAL authors of HR1955.

What else does this Bill provide? Here’s more of it:

Sec. 899b (1-8) rambles on about ideological and “home-grown” based terrorism, as though this sort of thing is happening all the time. When was the last time you heard about any “home-grown terrorism” in the news? More nonsense.

Sec 899b - (9) Certain governments, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia have significant experience with homegrown terrorism and the United States can benefit from lessons learned by those nations.

Does the above section suggest a video camera on every corner? There is little doubt that the UK must be the largest customer of CCTV cameras on the planet. Maybe the USA can start putting up these idiotic harassment devices everywhere, driving the price down for the good of all. Or, perhaps we can have a new breed of storm-troopers modeled after the SAS in the UK. (The “SAS” stands for Special Air Service, not “Shoot All Suspects” as some might imagine.) In intelligence circles in the USA, CIA stands for “Can’t Infiltrate Anyone.”

The majority of the Bill specifies who and what members of what committees will serve as the oversight. In other words, watching the fox who watches the fox, who in-turn guards the hen-house. Just what the government needs is to form yet another committee.

A TEST THAT PROVED BIG BROTHER DOESN’T CARE REAL THREATS

When big brother (oops “Homeland Security”) ran an ad back in 2001 for anyone to alert the government to possible terrorist targets, I answered the call. My curiosity wanted to see just what H.S. would do about a real possible prime location for a terrorist attack. Being the pessimist about Uncle that I am, I told my wife at the time “watch and see- they will do absolutely nothing.” She was worried about the men in black with machine guns and battering rams would show up, “knocking” on the door.

While they have sloppily entered my home several times while we were out by picking the lock and poking through my computers, they haven’t used a battering ram. Even the CIA agent recruiter played by Robert DeNiro in the film “The Good Shepherd” would be ashamed. Years ago, I left a letter in my computer just for these covert (overt) visitors to read. In case they haven’t found it yet, it’s a file named “NSA.TXT.” I used a generic text file format to be sure they could open it OK.

Anyway, I told HS about a city named _________ (name withheld here lest I be blamed for something) where water travels underground for some 30 miles from a fresh water lake, through four aqueducts under hundreds of acres of woods and farms to a medium-size city. So what’s the big threat here? The VENT PIPES are in an uninhabited wooded area. These pipes let fresh air into the aqueduct to help water flow.

Here are the questions:

* Are there new fences erected around the area, or were there any in 2001? No.

* Are the vent pipes tall too tall for anyone to reach? No- they are all at waist height. I have stood beside one and you can HEAR the water rushing by deep underground.

* Did the government ever get back to me about this? No, in spite of the highly detailed information I provided.

What a joke H.S. was and still is. Seriously, this water supply is a real security issue. But here we are SIX YEARS LATER and nothing has been done.

So now Bills like HR1955 are being promoted. And most likely in the same way as the original, infamous civil-rights-stealing Patriot Act. If you are a WMD (Washington Money Droid) don’t read it but vote for it. I for one am thoroughly ashamed. Traitors everywhere you look. Benedict Arnold would be proud to be among these politicians who claim to be “good citizens.”

And all in the name of two tall buildings that were demolished, simply for the insurance profit of one man. After all, if you were Silverstein buy the WTC complex wouldn’t YOU want to know if your multi-billion dollar investment was full of asbestos that would cost more to remove than the buildings were worth? Sure you would. And you can bet he knew about it, too. I think that WTC really stands for “Wow Tremendous Cash.”

It was the most efficient bang-for-the-buck ever pulled off in history:

* Silverstein walks away with the full policy payment thanks to his lawsuits

* Two big asbestos headaches are gone, with taxpayers flipping the tab to remove all the debris and ship it to China.

* New Draconian-style laws enacted to further the goals and megalomania of the “American Empire.”

The 2001 date is dragged out time after time and another veiled threat issued by the Decider whenever anyone on Capitol Hill even starts to question a new draconian law or any appointment of a bosom-buddy to any office. And then the Decider gets his way yet again. You can be sure that we’ll hear about 2001 several times on 1/28/08, when the Decider is supposed to decide to give his State of the Union speech. Yet another waste of air time, for it will say nothing. He’s intent on destroying the Union purposely, but you can bet he won’t talk about that on January 28th.

Think things will be better in 2009? Don’t count on it. If the Decider has his way there won’t be an election in November 2008. Elections will be suspended because the Decider and his cronies will make sure all hell breaks loose just before November. And $375 million dollars worth of Haliburton POW camps will finally be open for business. I wonder if the first prisoners in each camp will get a bottle of champaign to share, just before the torture sessions begin? Perhaps the silent knights who work in the Pentagon will finally have had their fill of this clown. Or are they already trembling in fear of the Decider?

I have to go now. There are some men outside in black uniforms holding machine guns and wielding a battering ram. They are knocking on the door quite loudly using their toy. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to camp I go

Washington, You’re Fired!
A film about taking back OUR government

“WASHINGTON, YOU’RE FIRED!” was born out of sheer frustration with abuses in our current political system and it gives a voice to Americans across the country. Producers Lewis and Abel trailed their way across the United States on an expedition to pull together the thoughts and requirements that everyday Americans have for their political representatives in Washington, D.C. The results were staggering and their stories are moving.

The American people know in their hearts that a problem exists in our current political structure and their solutions are simple, direct, and honest. Washington, You’re Fired captures the spirit and zest of an old fashioned Boston tea party and captivatingly delivers the audience an education into legislation that will affect them and generations of Americans to come.

What if every email, every phone call; every time you surfed the Internet, your private communications were being siphoned into a gigantic dragnet funded by a forty-five billion dollar budget and carried out in cooperation with the FBI, AT&T, and Verizon? “Washington, You’re Fired” presents compelling first-hand testimony and whistleblower accounts, punching holes in the official “war on terrorism” excuse that has been used to dismantle the U.S. Bill of Rights and tip the scales of executive checks and balance in this country.

From the mismanagement of Hurricane Katrina rescue efforts and law enforcement abuses to the wrongful imprisonment and torturing of legal enemy combatants and misuse of the FBI and NSA — nothing is taboo in this disturbing look at the dark side of government.

US cops beat the shit out of tibetans and threaten to kill them in front of the U.N building NYC shot by a free-tibet warrior

March 27, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: POLICE OUT OF CONTROL, free speech, government abuse, government corruption, police abuse, police abuse/harassment No Comments →

Disgusting video footage of New York cops clubbing and arresting peaceful Tibetan protesters who were merely walking down the street has gone relatively ignored beyond Youtube.

While stories emerge out of China every day of police beating and killing Tibetan protesters in the streets, the same sort of behavior by cops in America tells its own story.

The footage was shot at a free Tibet peaceful assembly in New York on the 14th of March.

It shows the protestors holding flags and signs and peacefully walking down the street towards the UN building in the Turtle Bay neighborhood only to be accosted by police officers with batons.

One officer identified as “Delgado” is seen in the video pushing people as the group crosses the street.

Another officer, identified as “Serano” is caught threatening to kill two protesters as the cameraman passes. He later admits to the threat and apologizes for it.

As the group nears the UN building, cop cars and vans screech onto the sidewalks, cops pour out and begin to beat the protesters with clubs as UN security guards observe without becoming involved.

A non uniformed officer, who seems to be directing the entire operation, then orders the cameraman to step back and move away.

“Look at these cops, clubbing people in front of the UN, unbelievable, protesting to free Tibet, cops clubbing people in their legs on the sidewalk, in front of the UN in America, unbelievable, this is not China.” the American cameraman announces in disbelief.

The officer identified as Serano then forces the cameraman away from the melee, telling him to shut the camera off and that he will not talk to him because he may be a reporter.

Several officers then follow the cameraman asking him about his recording of the incident.

Watch the entire video:

Hello my fellow Patriots,

The upcoming North American Leaders Summit is a pivotal chance for Americans everywhere to express their grievances with the government. There are a lot of groups out there that are after the same ultimate goals but bicker about the small stuff, thus creating a division among Patriots. This must end immediately. We can worry about the small stuff later when it is safe to do so. Right now we must concentrate on what all the groups agree on, such as protecting American sovereignty, an end to the corruption and getting back to the Constitution. Divided we cannot stand.

This so called summit is an opportunity for everyone to be heard as the eyes of the world will be upon it. We must unite. We can all join in one voice and let these so-called leaders know who is boss. The American People.

Let them know that they can’t erode our sovereignty.

Let them know that we want answers.

Let them know them know that we are Mad As Hell.

America used to be viewed as the shining light in the darkness. We can come together and restore that light to the world. It is very dim right now but it is not out. All it takes to relight America is for the American People to stand up in defiance of tyranny. Tyranny is spread through the barrel of a gun. Liberty is spread by example. Let’s be that example for the world once again.

As a bonus, New Orleans is the perfect place to highlight the failure of FEMA and the Bush Administration and we can help provide some economic relief for the still distressed New Orleans. We will be utilizing local restaurants and hotels as well as maybe some nightlife and while your there, take a little time and nail a board or two. Hope to see you there.

Officer Atkins of Pinellas Sheriff’s Department Arrests Young Activist-For Anti-Bush Sign (can we say no Free Speech in Florida)

February 27, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: POLICE OUT OF CONTROL, civil rights, free speech, government abuse, liberty, police abuse, police abuse/harassment No Comments →

First Person Account

The protest on Saturday, October 22, at Curlew Road and U.S. 19, started off like any other, we received the usual harassment from people. The middle finger was raised often, scowling faces often called us terrorists, and the occasional “Fuck Off!” was heard. We are used to this kind of treatment. What we are not used to, however, is our right to say what we want being taken away. The St. Petersburg Police Department tried to silence our protests in the past, and they failed. On Saturday, the Pinellas County Sheriffs Department tried to shut us down.

I was holding a sign that carried a simple declarative statement: FUCK BUSH. I know it’s an over simplification of the message I want to spread, but I feel that using the same language towards Bush’s supporters that they use with us might help them understand what we have to say.

About half way through the protest, I was approached by two officers of the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department who looked like they wanted trouble. The first words out of Officer Atkins mouth were “You will put that sign down where I cannot see it or you will be arrested”. I asked if there was an ordinance saying that I had to, and he told me I was breaching the peace. I didn’t want to be arrested again for protesting, so I immediately dropped it faced down on the ground. He then demanded to see my ID, I asked him if I had to, and he said that I was going to be under arrest.

Despite the claims made in the St. Petersburg Times article that ran the next day, I never stepped into the street, forced traffic to move around me, nor did I ever use any profanity with the Sheriffs. This is a deliberate lie made by the Sheriffs department, and a failure on behalf of the St. Petersburg Times for not attempting to check these claims. There are video and audio tapes proving this.

Even though I obeyed when the Sheriff told me to put my sign away, I was still arrested. No warning, just an arrest. I was sent to the Juvenile Assessment Center, photographed, finger printed, and released without bail. I never got a copy of the arrest report, or any notice to appear, so right now I’m waiting to hear what happens next.

For more information, contact Brendan, brendan@stpeteforpeace.org<On Saturday, October 22, a peaceful demonstration at the corner of Curlew Road and U.S. 19 in Clearwater attracted no less than five squad cars due to the presence of a sign deemed “obscene” by some anonymous motorist that phoned in a complaint. In yet another display of spectacularly heavy-handed police tactics, the protester was arrested instead of merely being asked to put down his sign. When it became clear that an arrest would be made, the rest of the peace cornering group converged several feet from the squad car with both conventional and video cameras. Police were asked to explain what the protester was being charged with, a subject upon which the arresting officers were curiously mute. Shortly afterwards, several other squad cars arrived and at one point, no less than six officers were seen clustered around a pamphlet of some sort in an apparent attempt to locate a crime that would be sufficiently heinous to warrant an arrest. At one point, the officers were inexplicably joined by a member of the Department of Transportation (perhaps they needed an outside consultant?) who remained at the site of the arrest until the protest disbanded almost an hour later. It is interesting to note the rationale given by the anonymous motorist for removal of the sign (as communicated to the group by the Sheriff’s Department)…something about having to explain it to his or her eight-year old daughter. One wonders how this motorist explains children with limbs blown off by U.S. cluster bombs. One wonders how he might explain the concept of pre-emptive war and of the torture and indefinite detentions of people who may or may not be terrorists. One wonders how he might explain how U.S. sanctions punish the leader of a country by slowly starving the innocent civilians who have the audacity to live in a place we have decided that we don’t like.

Oh yeah…that’s right…he probably doesn’t. War is obscene. Torture is obscene. Stealing people’s resources is obscene. Poisoning the earth for millions of years with depleted uranium weapons is obscene. Spending billions of dollars to promote death, while there is poverty, homelessness, disease and despair aplenty in your own hometown is obscene. These are far greater obscenities than a simple four-letter word, and yet the perpetrators of those crimes are not only allowed their freedom, they are supported in their profiteering by law enforcement officials all over the country who must scour pamphlets and call for reinforcements in order to find something, anything, that will trump the Constitution and stifle dissent.

The Bush regime (4 th Reich)

said on Saturday U.S. telecommunications companies have agreed to cooperate “for the time being” with spy agencies’ wiretaps, despite an ongoing battle between the White House and Congress over new terrorism surveillance legislation. The Justice Department and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued a joint statement saying wiretaps will resume under the current law “at least for now.”

Lone Protester- VICTORY

February 21, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: free speech No Comments →

Pictured from left to right Winthrop,Terry Funderburk(the Lone Protester,Rich Bolin his attorney, and Jim host of Freedom Fighter Radio. In front of the courthouse Columbia,South Carolina just after verdict of innocence was declared.

When the clerk of court read my verdict yesterday I was on pins and needles. I just wanted to jump out of my chair and shout to the heavens. Not guilty. And it was over, just those two little words and everything was alright in my world once again. I am not a defendant any longer because I have been found not guilty. It was like a thousand pounds had been lifted off my chest. There is a God in Heaven. And the Americans on that jury saw the truth and responded just like I figured they would.
When they called me to the witness stand I tried to come across as positive as I could. My lawyer passed me the pictures my son took as he asked questions. And I passed them to the jury. I told them about sitting on that hot road handcuffed and holding my protest sign as high as I could. I passed that picture to them and said I was proud of it. One thing I noticed was that more than one of the jurors was nodding as I was talking. They were really listening to me and seeing that what I was telling them was the truth. They agreed with me!
When the prosecutor started questioning me he said “so your business is doing bad”? I told him exactly like it was, namely that if he was wondering how bad, my business had no work scheduled for this week. That my profits Friday were more than likely to be zero dollars. He tried to make everyone think that I was a racist by the way he asked questions but the judge wouldn’t let him get to the subject of illegal aliens. He tried to stay away from it. But I didn’t do that because that subject was the basis for what I protested. That companies were employing illegal aliens therefore running me out of business. That was why I protested. The jury saw that. That prosecutor got so frustrated with my answers and my lawyers objections and the judge stopping him that he put the jury out of the room. After he admonished the poor fellow the prosecutor said that he had no more questions of me and I was sitting in my chair before the jury came back out. They called my son and he had no questions of him, my employee, or another witness that drove past that day I was arrested. I wanted to bust out laughing because that guy just quit trying to win the case. He just gave up he was so frustrated. Lol.
During closing statements though, the prosecutor tried to make out that I was a liar, that my son was also, my employee and the other witness. That we all lied about what happened that day. The prosecutor wanted to keep his case to a charge of uttering a fighting word so as to stay away from the question of was my constitutional rights violated? The jury saw through that also because how can the word cheap bastard be considered a fighting word, when I was handcuffed in the back seat of a cop car, locked in when I said them? When they found me not guilty they also said that my civil rights were violated.
My local newspaper has an article about it in this morning’s edition. In it I am quoted as saying that I protested because I saw Hispanics on that job and that is not right. I want to set the record straight, one month before I was arrested I bid on that job and the homeowner himself told me that international roofers installed the shingles on that roof for 4 to 5 dollars an hour. That is what top, American roofers got paid in the 1960’s and 70’s. I told the jury the same thing. And they believed me and not him.
I have proven that the justice system can work. When they threaten you on some bullcrap charge you should stand up for your rights come hell or high water. I have went through literal hell the last 8 months, but I stood my ground and the jury was on my side in the end. The jury was composed of 2 white guys, 2 blacks and 2 women and every one of them were American. Through and through. They saw the truth!
There were 18 of my friends and family there again yesterday. Most of them have been in that court room every time I was there. I am overwhelmed by the support they have given me over the months and by the support of people all over this country. There are millions of Americans that are patriots just like me, people that love their country as much as I do. And this small battle that I fought was not only a win for me, it was a win for all of you. Thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. Lone Protester

February 19, 2008 By: Freedom Fighter Category: POLICE OUT OF CONTROL, crime and illegals, free speech, government abuse, government corruption, liberty, police abuse/harassment No Comments →

Breakin news we wil talk about the long awaited verdict its over Terry declared innocent today at 4pm est Lone Protester’s jury trial #6

Freedom Fighter Radio will be there to support Terry

Feb 20
(The last two trials did not start until well after 9:30 if you cant get there at 8am or call numbers below instead )
The incidence that landed Terry in jail occured July 07.
Next Wednesday will be the 6th time Terry will have appeared before the judge in the Columbia, SC city courthouse.
The 5th trial was supposed to be a jury trial, AGAIN, yet the Prosecuter’s office fell down on the job AGAIN and there were only FOUR PEOPLE in the JURY POOL while 18 were needed. Hmm….
Before that discovery, the homeowner/prosecuter dropped 2nd charge of disorderly conduct.
They must have figured out the second charge (added at the 5th Jan. trial as punishment for Terry not pleading guilty) was a really bad idea and could land them in deep do-do. Yeah, they have made some mistakes and are trying to manipulate and trick their way out of it.
They have made it hard on him but Terry won’t drop it. And we are behind him all the way. He wants his JURY TRIAL because it is his right.
No sane jury will buy this bungling pile-o-crap by the City of Columbia .
They have tried very hard to make this trial just go away.
For those who cannot come
in person, watch the videos then please call and ask:
· why it has taken SIX trials to get a jury?
· What are they afraid of?
· What right did they have to put him in jail?
· Did they read him his rights (no) and why not!
· What happened to the right to a speedy trial?
· Why don’t they get a prosecutor that can try a simple case in one day rather than 8 months?
· Why do they prefer illegal aliens and people that hire them over a hard working American citizen who is being underbid right out of business?
· Why did the homeowner not have his employee’s backgrounds checked?
· Where did the roofers run to when the cops showed up?
· How do they feel about abusing Terry’s rights?
· Why didn’t they call ICE and stop the “real criminals” to RUN AWAY from the job site!?
Too many outrageous questions…..a system gone wrong.
Here are videos about Terry.

The video of the 5th trial isnt back from the EDITOR yet.

Who was arrested in Columbia, South Carolina for simply calling a home builder who hires illegal aliens a cheap Bastard…
