Oct. 2, 2007 | WASHINGTON — On Sept. 16, 2007, a convoy of Blackwater contractors guarding State Department employees entered a crowded square near the Mansour district in Baghdad, Iraq. But versions of what caused the ensuing bloodshed diverge. Employees from the firm claim they were attacked by gunmen and responded within the rules of engagement, fighting their way out of the square after one of their vehicles was disabled. Iraqi police and witnesses instead report that the contractors opened fire first, shooting at a small car driven by a couple with their child that did not get out of the convoy’s way as traffic slowed. At some point in the 20-minute gunfight, Iraqi police and army forces stationed in watchtowers above the square also began firing. Other Iraqi security forces and Blackwater quick-reaction forces soon reportedly joined the battle. There are also reports that one Blackwater employee may even have pointed his weapon at his fellow contractors, in an effort to get them to cease firing.

Blackwater’s vice chairman is Cofer Black, a former CIA counterterrorism official who is serving as a adviser to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

With former Whitehouse staff and legal eagles from the current and former Bush Admins. It is starting to look like Romney is playing the typical facist campaign game with Blackwater personell like former Whitewater prosecutor Kenneth Starr and current White House Counsel Fred Fielding.
With the latest controversy swirling around Blackwater is the Sept. 16 shooting of 11 Iraqis by contractors. Blackwater is struggleing to stay in Iraq and it’s soilders could face criminal charges for the blatent murders.
We had a video of the actual murders on this blog, but soon after it was made public, the account was stopped and removed for violations of terms of service, and now the account says removed by publisher.
Looks like more political corruption and more likely than not, Google and Youtube has squashed freedom of speech and the free press.
Why else would the video be removed and then the reason for removal changed?
Doesen’t look like romney would be a step in the right direction to me.
