Mitt Romney and his cronies pioneered ‘deindustrialization,’ a process by which they searched out vulnerable companies, took them over, loaded them with debt, and collected obscene fees while doing so. He sent jobs overseas or killed them altogether, and then picked apart the remains - including pension funds - before the companies went bankrupt.

Some might call that the free market. Most of us think its just plain wrong.

Islip Town Hall and two other buildings were evacuated briefly Wednesday after an anonymous caller made a bomb threat, Suffolk County police said.

Officers from Suffolk’s emergency services team searched Town Hall, at 655 Main St., and “nothing was found,” a police spokeswoman said.

The spokeswoman said police received an emergency call at 9:50 a.m. from a man using a pay phone at a Chinese restaurant indicating bombs would go off at 655 Main St. and another building, Suffolk County Social Services Department, on Wireless Boulevard in Hauppauge, the spokeswoman said.

Public safety officials for the town said about 75 people were evacuated from Town Hall shortly after 10 a.m. They returned at 10:45 a.m., after the search.

Suffolk emergency service subsequently searched the Social Services Department building and a nearby building after both were evacuated, the police spokeswoman said. An item was found, but it was not deemed a threat, she said.

Wednesday’s false bomb threat is the second made to the Islip Town Hall address by an anonymous caller since Nov. 17.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says the Muslims he knows are “peace-loving and America-loving individuals.”

At a campaign event in Cedar Rapids Friday, the subject of how to handle the threat posed by radical Islam was raised. As reported in the Des Moines Register, Romney reminded the gathering he had grown up in the Detroit area which has a large Muslim community.

About radical Islam Romney said, “They take a very different view of Islam than the Muslims I know.”

“I believe people of the Islamic faith do not have to subscribe to the ideas of radical, violence and jihadism,” added Romney. One man at the event claimed he had not heard Muslims denouncing Islamic jihad or terrorism. Romney countered, saying , “Most Muslims are peaceful people who deserve respect”

On January 10th, Project Veritas reporters walked into New Hampshire Polling Locations during the Presidential Primaries, saying dead people’s names. We stated the name of a dead person we got from the NH obituaries. The names of the deceased were both Registered Republican and Democrats And in almost every case, saying a dead person’s name, we were handed a ballot to cast a vote. We used no misrepresentation and no false pretenses. in fact, in almost every case, we insisted we show ID and they insisted that we vote without showing ID.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Video footage provided exclusively to The Daily Caller shows election workers in New Hampshire giving out ballots in the names of dead voters at multiple voting precincts during the state’s primary election on Tuesday.

The bombshell video is the work of conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe and his organization, Project Veritas.

Voters in the Granite State are not required to present identification to vote. O’Keefe’s investigators were able to obtain ballots under the names of dead voters at polling locations Tuesday by simply asking for them, he said.

“Live free or die,” an election worker told one of the investigators in the video. “This is New Hampshire. No ID needed.”

In an interview with TheDC on Wednesday, O’Keefe said the exposé shows how voter fraud can be easier to perpetrate when identification isn’t required.

“There is fraud going on and our goal is to visualize it for people,” he said.

When Jermaine Green and his fiancee Violet Roberts got on a Metro bus in Bellflower Monday night, they took notice of another passenger.

“The lady got on the bus with a stroller full of pillows, she was very polite, said hello to everyone and sat down,” Green said. At the next stop, two LA County sheriff’s deputies, one male and one female, boarded the bus and called the passenger by name.

“They said get off the bus. She then started cursing at (the female deputy). You could tell she had special needs. After that they grab her, she curses him out, calls him a big shot, next thing you know he gives her a big shot,” Green said.

Green captured the incident with his cell phone’s video camera.

“It was like they were tired of dealing with her so they didn’t try to talk to her or anything,” Roberts said.

“I couldn’t believe it. He seen me taping. He looked up at the camera a few times, and he still hit her like that, and I can’t believe he didn’t try to diffuse the situation at all,” Green said.

Green recently returned home from serving six years in the Army, including tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“In the Army, they gave us extensive training for rules of engagement. There’s proper protocols and steps you take. This lady didn’t do anything, she wasn’t combative and he actually turned combative on her,” Green said.

Green claims the deputies then tried to intimidate him when he refused to hand over his cell phone.

A man thought to be an Islamic extremist is believed to have shot the windows out of at least two businesses in Alabama City early Sunday to lure police officers to the area and engage them in a shootout.

Luis Ibarra-Hernandez, 21, from Albertville, was charged today with attempted murder, according to a news release from the Gadsden Police Department.

“After the man was taken into custody, he reported that he knew he must do something extreme to draw attention to Islam and himself, so he planned to shoot police officers,” Gadsden Police Capt. Regina May said.

Gadsden police officers responded to alarm calls for glass breakage after doors were shot out about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at AutoZone and Rainbow Food Mart near the intersection of 27th Street and West Meighan Boulevard.

While investigating the broken doors and determining they were shot out, officers heard gunfire and spotted a man near the old CVS building.

The man knew he had been seen and ran toward the Cathedral of Praise Church parking lot, then started firing rounds at the officers.

Under the National Operations Center (NOC)’s Media Monitoring Initiative that emerged from the Department of Homeland Security in November, Washington has written permission to collect and retain personal information from journalists, news anchors, reporters or anyone who uses “traditional and/or social media in real time to keep their audience situationally aware and informed.”

According to DHS, the definition of personal identifiable information can consist of any intellect “that permits the identity of an individual to be directly or indirectly inferred, including any information which is linked or linkable to that individual.”

Previously established guidelines within the administration say that data could only be collected under authorization set forth by written code, but the new provisions in the NOC’s write-up means that any reporter, whether someone along the lines of Walter Cronkite or a budding blogger, can be victimized by the agency.

Also included in the roster of those subjected to the spying are government officials, domestic or not, who make public statements, private sector employees that do the same and “persons known to have been involved in major crimes of Homeland Security interest,” which to itself opens up the possibilities even wider.

The department says that they will only scour publically-made info available while retaining data, but it doesn’t help but raise suspicion as to why the government is going out of their way to spend time, money and resources on watching over those that helped bring news to the masses.

The website “Fast Company” reports that the NOC Monitoring Initiative has been in play since at least early-2010 and that the data is being shared with both private sector businesses and international third parties.

A Pinellas Park man is accused of planning to attack crowded Tampa locations including night clubs with a car bomb, assault rifle and other explosives.

Sami Osmakac, 25, was arrested Saturday night.  He is charged with one count of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. A federal judge ordered him held without bond during his first court appearance Monday afternoon. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Osmakac is a naturalized U.S. citizen who was born in the former Yugoslavia (what is now Kosovo). Officials say no one else has been arrested in the case.

Six people were arrested in downtown Oakland for charges including vandalism, assaulting police officers and possession of explosives during an anti-police march on Saturday night organized by Occupy Oakland protesters, police said.

The march was organized by a branch of Occupy Oakland called the “Tactical Action Committee,” protesters at the scene said, and began at around 8 p.m. in Frank Ogawa Plaza.

Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said that six protesters had been arrested by 11 p.m.

The march snaked through downtown Oakland, and Watson said that during the march protesters broke police car windows, vandalized a media van, threw bottles at police and lit a fire near the corner of Eighth and Washington streets.

“I find no proper legal or historical basis on which to conclude that a person born outside of the United States could ever be eligible to occupy the Office of the President of the United States. In other words, In my opinion, Mr. George Romney of Michigan Is Ineligible to become President of the United States because he was born In Mexico and is, therefore, not a natural-born citizen as required by the United States Constitution.”

Thus, we have the same situation as with Obama/Soetoro: A father born in a foreign country who never became a U.S. citizen. Several people have been doing some serious research on this:

“The big question is this…how did George and Gaskell Romney get their US Citizenship back if they still had it at all? If Gaskell (son) and Miles Park Romney (father) who were both Mexican citizens how could they transfer US Citizenship to George Romney? Mitt Romney, however, may be a birthright baby because he fell under the 14th Amendment (I doubt they were under the jurisdiction of the US) but it is absolutely clear that Mitt Romney is NOT a Natural Born Citizen unless he can prove that George Romney gained citizenship from naturalization prior to Mitt’s birth in 1947. I have found no records showing this to be the case.”.

First, Congress considered the National Defense Authorization Act, sections of which gave the President the authority to use the military to arrest and indefinitely detain Americans without trial or charge. The language was revised because of strong condemnation from the American people. But now a new bill has emerged that poses yet another threat to the American citizenry.

Congress is considering HR 3166 and S. 1698 also known as the Enemy Expatriation Act, sponsored by Joe Lieberman (I-CT) and Charles Dent (R-PA). This bill would give the US government the power to strip Americans of their citizenship without being convicted of being “hostile” against the United States. In other words, you can be stripped of your nationality for “engaging in, or purposefully and materially supporting, hostilities against the United States.” Legally, the term “hostilities” means any conflict subject to the laws of war but considering the fact that the War on Terror is a little ambiguous and encompassing, any action could be labeled as supporting terrorism.

The new law would change a part of US Code 1481 which can be read in full here.

Compare 3166 to 1481 and the change is small. The new section makes no reference to being convicted as it does in section (7). So even though the language of the NDAA has been revised to exclude American citizens, the US government merely has to strip Americans of their citizenship and the NDAA will apply. And they will be able to do so without convicting the accused in a court of law.

Sounds to me like this is a loophole for indefinitely detaining Americans. Once again, you just have to be accused of supporting hostilities which could be defined any way the government sees fit. Then the government can strip your citizenship and apply the indefinite detention section of the NDAA without the benefit of a trial. This certainly must be questioned by American citizens. The way many of our elected representatives  think, our rights are always in danger of being taken away.

BOSTON – With Mitt Romney’s move to the front of the race for the GOP nomination for president, his critics are raising questions about his history of support for Democrats, and several left-leaning agendas.

In an essay on his website, political commentator Terrence Jeffrey

says Romney was open about his support for former Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Paul Tsongas’ White House bid.

Jeffrey writes in a November article in Human Events that Romney was attracted to Tsongas’ campaign because of Tsongas’ strong support for population control.

“When he ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1992, Paul Tsongas repeatedly made it clear: He loathed President George H.W. Bush’s flip-flopping on abortion and his inattentiveness to what Tsongas perceived as the urgent need for global population control,” Jeffrey said.

“I will tell you very strongly the No. 1 environmental issue I’m going to push for when I’m president is population control around this world so we can turn to later generations and say something except, ‘Sorry, folks,’” Jeffrey wrote, quoting Tsongas.

“Two months later, Romney cast his vote for Tsongas. That Massachusetts primary was a landslide in both parties. Bush beat Pat Buchanan 66 percent to 28 percent. Among Democrats, native son Tsongas took 66 percent to then-former California Gov. Jerry Brown’s 15 percent and Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton’s 11 percent,” Jeffrey wrote.

Political analyst Steve Baldwin agrees and says that Romney’s history with the Republican party is pretty thin.

Symantec has confirmed with SecurityWeek that hackers have accessed source code related to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Antivirus 10.2.

Symantec is really regretting allowing the Indian government covert or overt access to its source code.

According to SecurityWeek, a team of hackers have accessed source code related to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Antivirus 10.2 sitting on the Indian mililtary intelligence servers.

It is not clear how James Patel of the Indian Secret Service got his paws on the source code, and it looks like they may have even handed the code over for testing before being given a lucrative government contract.

The hacker group, operating under the name Dharmaraja, said that within the Indian Spy Programme are the source codes of a dozen software companies which have signed agreements with the Indian TANCS programme and CBI.

The hackers have shown a document dated April 28, 1999, that Symantec describes as defining the application programming interface  for the virus Definition Generation Service.

Despite giving away nuclear secrets and implementing a policy of appeasement, the Russians announced in November that they will deploy new missiles aimed at U.S. missile defense sites.

But that didn’t divert President Obama from his mission of appeasement.

President Obama signaled Congress this week that he is planning on providing Moscow with US missile defense secrets.

The Washington Times reported:

President Obama signaled Congress this week that he is prepared to share U.S. missile defense secrets with Russia.

In the president’s signing statement issued Saturday in passing into law the fiscal 2012 defense authorization bill, Mr. Obama said restrictions aimed at protecting top-secret technical data on U.S. Standard Missile-3 velocity burnout parameters might impinge on his constitutional foreign policy authority.

As first disclosed in this space several weeks ago, U.S. officials are planning to provide Moscow with the SM-3 data, despite reservations from security officials who say that doing so could compromise the effectiveness of the system by allowing Russian weapons technicians to counter the missile. The weapons are considered some of the most effective high-speed interceptors in the U.S. missile defense arsenal.

There are also concerns that Russia could share the secret data with China and rogue states such as Iran and North Korea to help their missile programs defeat U.S. missile defenses.

For the record… Obama met secretly with Gorbachev in March 2009 where they discussed ways of reducing their countries’ respective nuclear arsenals.

Columbia, MO January 6, 2012 - The Iowa Caucus is over and the surviving Republican presidential hopefuls are moving on to New Hampshire. Mitt Romney, the winner, barely overtook the second place Rick Santorum with the slimmest margins, only 8 votes. Many are calling this a virtual tie, and, really, it is. Ron Paul did well with 22% of the vote compared to the next 4^th place, Newt Gingrich and his mere 14%. If anyone still has doubts about whether or not the media is trying to drive this election, one need only look at the treatment in conversation during and after the results. Even with such a solid 3^rd place finish, Paul is still being disregarded and written off by the media.

Fox News coverage went on into the early morning hours, as the vote count trickled in. The wait led to some interesting conversations between the selected guest pundits and Fox personalities. Most of the conversations centered around Santorum’s surge and how it might impact Romney’s bid. Paul’s support from the independents, democrats and America’s youth was mentioned a few times, as well. In an otherwise surprising part of the evening, however, Jon Huntsman, who finished last, with less than 800 votes, and has never polled well anywhere, was still given more credit by the media than was Paul. If that isn’t media manipulation, I’m not sure what is!

Fox News’s Megyn Kelly stated several times that Huntsman considered Iowa to be a waste of time and would not be participating, concentrating his efforts on New Hampshire. One has to wonder if Huntsman’s view of Iowa had anything to do with how well Paul’s numbers were leading up to the Caucus and Huntsman’s inevitable demise, seeing as he has had such a hard time gaining any sort of following. Yet, Michele Bachmann, who came in well ahead of Huntsman, has called it quits, and Rick Perry, who did even better, is considering his next move.

This question has been asked before, but in light of the behavior of the media, it’s worth re-asking.  What happened to journalistic integrity?  What happened to reporting facts rather than pushing an agenda?  Maybe one gives too much credit to outfits like Fox News, CNN, MSNBC and others. Yet, those are the outlets where most people get their news these days.

So what do we do?  How do we help the massive population in this country, a Constitutional Republic, understand what Ron Paul is all about?  It is clear we will not be able to count on the mainstream media to be objective!  There are different groups and grassroots efforts all over trying to help get Paul’s message out.  William Lewis Films has released, for the first, a film in which he endorses a political candidate; The Ron Paul Uprising.

The Air National Guard’s 174th Fighter Wing is a step closer to gaining federal permission to fly unmanned Reaper drones out of its base at Hancock Field, according to U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer.

The National Defense Authorization Act signed into law last week by President Barack Obama allows for the establishment of six national test sites where drones could fly through civil air space.

Schumer, D-N.Y., said Tuesday he pushed for the establishment of six spots, instead of the planned four, to improve the chances that Hancock Field would be included. The 174th Fighter Wing has been trying for almost five years to convince the Federal Aviation Administration to allow flights of the MQ-9 Reaper drones out of Hancock Field.

The FAA bans such unmanned flights because of concerns about the remotely piloted drones flying through civil airspace used by commercial aircraft at Syracuse’s Hancock International Airport.

Schumer said he sent a letter Tuesday to FAA Acting Commissioner Michael Huerta, asking for Hancock to be one of the national test sites.

Mitt Romney, last night’s Iowa caucus winner, has been on the campaign trail claiming that the private equity firm he ran, known as Bain Capital, was responsible for creating loads of jobs. Romney responded to criticism about his time at Bain by saying, “I’m very happy in my former life; we helped create over 100,000 new jobs.”

When a group of Romney backers ran an ad making the same claim, they were unable to back up the number with data. And as it turns out, the Romney camp can’t either, as it admitted that the statistic is nothing but cherry-picked job growth from a few companies that did well after they were bought by Bain:

[Romney spokesman Eric] Fehrnstrom says the 100,000 figure stems from the growth in jobs from three companies that Romney helped to start or grow while at Bain Capital: Staples (a gain of 89,000 jobs), The Sports Authority (15,000 jobs), and Domino’s (7,900 jobs).

This tally obviously does not include job losses from other companies with which Bain Capital was involved — and are based on current employment figures, not the period when Romney worked at Bain. (Indeed, Romney made his comments in response to a former employee of American Pad & Paper Co. who says he lost his job after Bain Capital took it private.)

Bain Capital has been responsible for thousands of layoffs at companies it bankrupted, such as American Pad & Paper, Dade International, and LIVE Entertainment, which Romney’s stat completely leaves out. He’s also taking credit for jobs created long after he left the firm to launch his political career. To sum it up, the stat Romney uses is incredibly dishonest, like much of his jobs rhetoric.

One of Romney’s Bain business partners has said that he “never thought of what I do for a living as job creation.” “The primary goal of private equity is to create wealth for your investors,” he added. And Bain has certainly done that, maximizing earnings “by firing workers, seeking government subsidies, and flipping companies quickly for large profits.” Due to a lucrative retirement deal, Romney is still making millions from Bain, as he goes across the country calling himself “middle class” and joking about being “unemployed.

You’ve probably heard all the good ones about GOP presidential hopeful Rick Santorum by now. The one about his “Google problem.”  The one about the “man-on-dog sex” (prompting the greatest journalistic response ever, when the reporter told Santorum that he was “sort of freaking me out.”) The one about how the Catholic Church’s priest sex abuse scandal was caused by Boston liberalism, or the one about how President Obama should be anti-abortion because he’s black and abortion is like slavery. And so on and so forth.

That’s the Rick Santorum that America has come to know over the last 15 years or so – an unapologetic and almost goofy culture warrior whose obsessions – like thinking that gay sex is a gateway drug to bestiality – make him a hero to social conservatives and often a laughing stock to most everyone else. Santorum’s rise in the 2012 presidential race has people talking about whether his views on social issues –talk of annulling gay marriages, seemingly questioning the right to even birth control — make him too extreme to be president – and that’s an important topic to discuss.

But I also think Santorum’s weird sexual bluster can obscure who he really is, and what truly matters about his suddenly surging campaign. As a Philadelphia-based political reporter, I arrived in town just seven months after Santorum became my state’s junior senator. I followed his 12 years on the Washington political stage closely, and I think people obsessing on the “man-on-dog” stuff are missing the bigger picture. For one thing, the self-styled “family values” expert has a surprisingly ambiguous record with his own personal ethics. Also, Santorum’s legislative record shows that his real workaday agenda was not so much waging culture wars as protecting the interests of the 1 Percent, the millionaires and billionaires who funded the modern Republican Party. You could say that Rick Santorum is just another politician. But that would be giving him too much credit.

Homeland Security officers participate in

an Operation Shield training exercise

It may have looked like they were ready for war or some deranged person looking for his late Social Security benefits.

But it was only Federal Protective Service officers with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security who were conducting a random training operation early Tuesday morning when they surprisingly showed up at the Social Security Administration office in downtown Leesburg.

With their blue and white SUVs circled around the Main Street office, at least one official was posted on the door with a semiautomatic rifle, randomly checking identifications. And other officers, some with K-9s, sifted through the building.

“I thought someone was upset about not getting there check,” said Laura Kelly, who took a friend to the office on Tuesday.

According to one Homeland official in the Washington, D.C. office, Operation Shield. is an effort that uses routine, unannounced visits by FPS inspectors to test the effectiveness of contract guards, or protective security officers — “detecting the presence of unauthorized persons and potentially disruptive or dangerous activities.”

Part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FPS is the federal law enforcement agency that provides integrated security and law enforcement services to over 9,000 federally-owned and leased buildings, facilities, properties and other assets.

Officers on the scene would not speak to the press and by noon they were gone. But Thomas Milligan, district manager for the Social Security Administration office, said while the visit came as a surprise, the office was ready. He added the officers checked videos, security measures, alarm system and more.

“It was to make sure security measures are in place and properly followed,” Milligan said.
